I will sit and stare out this window,

And watch the world pass me by,

I once was apart of that world,

but now I live inside my mind.

I will smile and laugh for show,

Making you believe I am alright,

But the darkness grabs my mind and soul,

When I am defenseless in the night.

Try as I might, I cannot break free,

From this cage I have built,

Instead I sit with myself alone,

And fill my thoughts with guilt .

One day someone will let me out,

By finding the missing key,

But until then I will sit,

Waiting to be free.
