I love the Everdark Gladius fight. It's dodge perfectly or die most of the time unless you have damage negation stacked. There are idiots... complete fools who will tell people to forgo anything defensive, and go all in on attack power because, "Kill boss as quickly as possible." And sure enough... all their mighty stacks of attack power are worth exactly shit when they then get one-shot, and spend most of the round kissing the ground. More than I need my teammates to be strong, I need them to survive. Most Souls boss fights are an endurance test. You may have to dodge ten times to get two hits in. Take improved dodging if it comes up. Gladius uses a ton of fire attacks. Take affinity damage negation if it comes up. It's not that hard. If there is one thing I'd request of FromSoftware though... I'd like the ability to add an affinity to a weapon. Because often times I'll have my build set up towards the main bosses weakness, and then never find a decent weapon with fire or holy or lightning or whatever. True, there are relics you can equip to add these affinities to your starter weapon, but... Duchess dagger is a little underwhelming, not a big fan of using it the entire round. Obviously you wouldn't be able to put affinities onto higher level weapons that'd be OP, just make it the basic ones so I can turn my wakizashi into a fire wakizashi. I understand that the randomness of equipment, and getting a win out of subpar equipment is part of the challenge, and it is more satisfying to win in spite of your equipment not matching your build. But ya know... Going multiple rounds vs Everdark Sentient, and not getting a single fire weapon with +6 fire attack power built into my character... A little annoying.
