To my fallen brothers,
Coming on the 7 year anniversary of the explosion, not a single day goes by when i dont think about the three of you. Three of us spent our entire Marine Corps career together. We started in the same platoon in boot camp at MCRD San Diego and ended our trek together in the same vehicle. The fourth, our Corporal, taught us everything a good infantry Marine needs to know, exactly how to locate, close with, and destroy the enemy.
On that day, the four of us knew that they day was off.... from the moment we woke up, to receiving our Frag-O, to driving out of the wire.... just.... off... During the ride, i was sitting in the gunner seat when there was a loud boom, the vehicle in front of us exploded, next thing, we are pulling around and another boom, this time, our vehicle. I dont remember much after that... just being in the air (not sure how high i went) then black.... just utter darkness... then waking up in a CH-53 (helicopter) on a flight to Germany.... upon getting to the hospital, i was informed of your three deaths...
I should have been there with you... its not right that i survived and you guys didn't. I was the only one not married, at the time i had no kids...
I always hate easter.... so much pain always comes with it.

you survived because you were meant to do something your life, there's a reason why you need to be here even though you need to live with the pain of losing your fallen brothers.
carry them with you always, in your head and in your heart.... through you, they'll continue to exist~
(hugs)
