There is a rave member who I have not had the pleasure to meet in real life, but who is like a brother to me. He called me last night and we got to talking. Sometimes we can be on the phone for hours. Hopefully, I will have time before the next ten years to call a friend in England and do the same thing. Both guys are interesting, intelligent and a credit to the rave.



Anyhow, he told me about a place called Freedom Village that he had the misfortune to attend. This was the friend or brother I was speaking to in New York. When he described the place, he did state that the name was quite ironic in so many words. It is a religious setting for troubled youth. That in and of itself does not sound like a bad idea. Wait. There is more. The place does not teach the young to think for themselves. No, that would be too much freedom. They have to learn to follow the way the staff wants them to and to toe the line. They have to walk the line more than Johnny Cash ever dreamed of doing. I know children are sent there to get help, but I cannot get down with the fact that their free will given to them by God is being taken away from them. That is a form of abuse. My friend stated that his mother was called and told to come get him. He was not going to be brainwashed.



There is a difference between a legit church and a cult. If you are told that thinking for yourself and asking questions is a bad thing, you just may have joined a cult.

I have a rather strong disliking for people that act stuck up and twist things to make them seem your fault, and then when you apoligise (for doing nothing) they are too stubborn to accept your apoligies.



I would like to hear your views on this....

I would also advise you against bringing your personal disputes into the public form.

Many people on this site have written journal entries complaining about the general discussion section of the forum. I see why. There is no reason for anyone to put a personal dispute in the forum. In fact, it may make sense to keep most of them off the rave. IF it involves a rave member, then starting drama is not going to solve anything. You will tell your friends on here. The other party will tell their friends and the next thing you know there will be a great big stink. A dominar or other member of staff will get involved. Someone may end up suspended. That is just how things go. Unless a person just loves drama , you would think that they would try to avoid it.



Perhaps, the first poster did not initially understand the sections of the forums. I do not see how that is the case, but hey anyone can make a mistake. The thing is this post probably came after one to three others Stabb closed by this particular poster.
