WASHINGTON (CNN) -- FBI Director Robert Mueller told Congress Thursday that the confrontation between then-White House Counsel Alberto Gonzales and then-Attorney General John Ashcroft in Ashcroft's hospital room in 2004 concerned a controversial surveillance program -- an apparent contradiction of Senate testimony given Tuesday by Gonzales.
Mueller said he spoke with Ashcroft soon after Gonzales left the hospital and was told the meeting dealt with "an NSA [National Security Agency] program that has been much discussed, yes."
Mueller made the comment as he testified before the House Judiciary Committee.
In testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, Gonzales, now attorney general, said he had visited the ailing Ashcroft in the hospital to discuss "other intelligence activities," not the # When the issue came up again, John Negroponte, then director of national intelligence, described the "Gang of Eight" meeting as being about the surveillance program.

Mueller also testified Thursday that he had serious reservations about the program, which allowed surveillance without warrants, at the time of the dramatic internal administration showdown and threats of top-level resignations.
Mueller did not confirm he had threatened to resign, but he twice said he supported the testimony of former Deputy Attorney General James Comey, who testified that Gonzales and former White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card tried to pressure Ashcroft to reauthorize a surveillance program against terror suspects.
Mueller for the first time publicly confirmed he dispatched -- as Comey testified -- an FBI security detail to Ashcroft's hospital room to ensure that Comey was not removed from the room when Gonzales was there.
Earlier Thursday, four Democratic senators called for an independent special counsel to investigate whether Gonzales perjured himself during Capitol Hill testimony.
It's the latest salvo in a dispute regarding President Bush's domestic surveillance program and the Justice Department's firings of U.S. attorneys last year.
Separately, Sen. Pat Leahy, D-Vermont, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, announced he intends to subpoena President Bush's top political adviser, Karl Rove, to testify about the dismissals.
The special prosecutor would be appointed by the solicitor general at the Department of Justice, which Gonzales heads. Both Gonzales and Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty have recused themselves, putting the matter in the hands of Solicitor General Paul Clement.
"The attorney general took an oath to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Instead he tells the half truth, the partial truth and everything but the truth -- and he does it not once, not twice, but over and over and over again," said Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-New York, at a news conference.
"We do not make this request lightly," the senators wrote in a letter to Clement. "We believe a special counsel is needed because it has become apparent that the attorney general has provided -- at a minimum -- half-truths and misleading statements."
These relate to his involvement in the "removal and replacement of U.S. attorneys, about his role in trying to circumvent Acting Attorney General Comey and about the administration's position on the NSA wiretapping program."
The Bush administration has insisted that the firing of the attorneys was handled properly, but critics have charged the attorneys were forced out for political motives and, in one case, to allow a protege of Rove to take one of the posts.
In addition to Schumer, Sens. Dianne Feinstein of California, Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island and Russ Feingold of Wisconsin signed the letter.
"This has been a long and sorry episode for the Department of Justice," Whitehouse said.
n response to the developments, White House Deputy Press Secretary Tony Fratto said, "Every day congressional Democrats prove that they're more interested in headlines than doing the business Americans want them to do. And Americans are now taking notice that this Congress, under Democratic leadership, is failing to tackle important issues."
Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee and a harsh Gonzales critic, said he doesn't support Schumer's request for a special prosecutor.
Specter accused the senators who signed the letter of moving too quickly on allegations that are "very, very serious," without consulting the rest of the panel. He noted that Leahy's name was missing on the letter.
"I think the fact that he [Leahy] has not signed it is highly significant," Specter said. "I don't think you rush off and ask for appointment of a special counsel to run that kind of an investigation."
"I think there's a little bit of Don Quixote here. People are riding off in all different directions at once. Everybody is trying to top everybody else," Specter said. The president, he added, "feels very strongly that there's been nothing improper here."
The four senators asked that the inquiry focus on three issues:
# Gonzales testified February 6, 2006, that "there has not been any serious disagreement about the [no-warrant surveillance program]." However, he testified Tuesday that the purpose of a March 10, 2004, meeting between White House officials and congressional leaders -- referred to as the "Gang of Eight" -- was to inform lawmakers that Comey would not approve "a very important intelligence activity." That was when Comey was filling in for the hospitalized Ashcroft. Another official testified that the 2004 meeting was about the TSA. The senators called the contradiction in Gonzales' statements "deeply troubling."
# When the issue came up again, John Negroponte, then director of national intelligence, described the "Gang of Eight" meeting as being about the surveillance program.
# On April 19, 2007, when discussing his role in the firings of the attorneys, Gonzales testified, "I haven't talked to witnesses because of the fact that I haven't wanted to interfere with this investigation." However, Monica Goodling, former counsel to Gonzales, testified that while she worked for him, she had an "uncomfortable" conversation with the attorney general "where he outlined his recollection of what happened" and asked her for her reaction.

Karma is a bitch folks and it takes no prisoners. Yes, I just used a foul word, sue me. God or whoever is in charge of the Universe knows I use profane language, so there is no reason to hide it. You can call it reaping what you sow or getting your just dessert.
President Bush wanted to disable the Democratic Congress that was elected to send the Republicans in Washington a strong message. The voters on election day spoke loud and clearly that they did not like the course this nation was taking. I am sure there are those that voted Republican, but this time around they were outnumbered. I have talk to a few Republicans that jumped ship and voted Democrat. They were going along with Bush at first, but after they saw what was going on, their minds were made up.
Then our President decides to disable the Democrats that we elected at every turn. He wanted to rewrite the US Constitution or revise it. James Madison did not ask for or need Bush's help. I wish Bush would say he did. We could call him a nutter and be done with it. Bush got it in his head that he needed to be a legislator. I think he waited too late in the game to want to be a member of Congress. He did run for President. It is funny how instead of vetoing a bill or signing it, he wanted to rewrite it. Maybe Karl Rove should have explained to him that a President does not make laws. They only enforce them.
Then, Georgie Boy, wants to play dirty pool like he is Joe Kennedy. Well, that would have been more effective if he had not used Pee Wee Herman's playbook. He should have found Joe's and been done with it. He would threaten the members of Congress and try to make them look unpatriotic if they did not go along with him about Iraq. I quess he felt they had to be in it for the long haul ( which with Georgie could mean the next three hundred years. None of us will be around, but I am sure that is not his concern at this point. ) Anything less than what he wanted and he was having a hissy fit like a little boy. That may work with some people , but Nancy and the rest of Congress was not going for it.
The Democrats know that 2008 is just around the corner. They have their eyes on the prize- The White House. Bush , thankfully, cannot re-run. I am sure he toyed with the idea of a change in the Constitution , but hopefully his last idea about that taught him a lesson. Bush did not do like Abraham Lincoln and make enemies into friends. He pissed Congress off and now they are going at him and his administration with both barrels blazing. He should have know that sending Gonzales to a hospital to ensure illegal surveillance happened would get him in hot water. That is not something you can get away with. I understand the intent was to stop terrorism and I agree that terrorism must be stopped, but the road to Hell was paved with good intentions. There is something about unlawful search and seizure in the Constitution for a reason. James Madison was not bored the day he wrote it and just added things for a lack of better things to do. He had a reason behind it.
Gonzales, the attorney general, does not remember things correctly or is just someone who cannot or will not tell the truth. Perhaps, it is a little of all three. He should have know this would bite him in the butt someday. Karl Rove must have thought he was untouchable. He could have learned a little lesson from Al Capone. He did not go to jail for racketeering or any other illegal activity. Capone went down for income tax evasion. At least he got some money out of the deal. Karl Rove did not even get any honey.
Say what you will about former President Clinton. You can mention his pardons of friends, his affair with Moncia ( I do not think it was a full-blown affair myself), the death of Vince Foster or Whitewater. (I bet the Republicans were hoping that Whitewater would be the next Watergate. Too bad for them. Their boy Nixon was the crook. ) The only thing is that when he was President and his political party lost the Congress during the mid-term elections, he realized he would have to change course on a few things. You may not agree with his morals, but at least he had more sense then the compassionate conversative now occupying the White House. The Republicans tried to bring down Clinton. The Democrats are only giving their counterparts a healthy dose of their own medicine.
I see now that part of Bush's legacy may be an increase in partsianship. He has made it difficult for the Republicans that are not trying to fight all the time with the Democrats. I do hope they do not get caught up in Bush's mess. Perhaps, the Democrats will remember the Republicans that were workable.
I wonder what a true statesman like Thomas Jefferson would say. ( No, Jefferson was not perfect. He owned slaves and tried to pass the buck to King George the Third of England in the Declaration of Independence. He got stopped from doing that by the other founding fathers. ) Jefferson knew that the business of the country came first. Yes, the political parties of his day disagreed and argued to a point. Neither party then neglected the state of affairs this country found itself in to play dirty pool with each other. It looks like some of our current Republicans have. Jefferson is shaking his head from the other side.
ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Investigators found testosterone, painkillers and anti-anxiety drugs in the body of professional wrestler Chris Benoit, who killed his wife and son last month before hanging himself in his Atlanta home, a medical examiner said Tuesday.
Dr. Kris Sperry, Georgia's chief medical examiner, said the body of Benoit's wife, Nancy, also contained painkillers and anti-anxiety drugs.
Sperry said it's likely the Benoits' 7-year-old son, Daniel, was sedated at the time he was murdered, because a high level of the anti-anxiety drug Xanax was found in the boy's system.
Xanax is not normally prescribed for children, Sperry said.
Chris Benoit's body contained an "elevated" level of testosterone and therapeutic levels of Xanax and the painkiller hydrocodone, Sperry said.
But, he said, the level of testosterone revealed nothing conclusive about the wrestler's state of mind before his death.
"There's no reliable scientific data that says elevated levels of testosterone lead to psychotic rage," Sperry said.
The only thing we can ascertain is that this level of testosterone indicates that he had been using testosterone at least in some reasonably short period of time before he died," he said. "It could be an indication he was being treated for testicular insufficiency."
The investigators found no other drugs, including steroids, in Benoit's body.
The investigation into the Benoits' deaths led to speculation that the wrestler may have been injecting steroids and had experienced what is called " 'roid rage," leading him to kill his wife and son.
An official who is part of the investigation told CNN last month that Benoit's name was on receipts that indicated he had purchased shipments of anabolic steroids and human growth hormones from Signature Pharmacy.
The Orlando, Florida, facility is at the center of a nationwide investigation into the sale of illegal steroids.
Phil Astin, Benoit's personal doctor, has been indicted by a grand jury on seven charges of improperly dispensing and distributing painkillers and other drugs. Astin has been released on $125,000 bond and is under house arrest.
Although Benoit's name was not mentioned in Astin's indictment, his arrest stemmed from the investigation into the Benoits' deaths.
"Through prescription records for Mr. Benoit maintained at a pharmacy in Fayetteville, Georgia, Dr. Astin was identified as prescribing, on average, a 10-month supply of anabolic steroids to Mr. Benoit every three to four weeks from May 4, 2006, through May 9, 2007," the U.S. attorney's office said.
Sperry said the body of Nancy Benoit also contained therapeutic levels of hydrocodone and Xanax, along with hydromorphone, which he said is a byproduct of the breakdown of hydrocodone.
Nancy Benoit's blood alcohol level was .184, which is over the legal limit for intoxication, but Sperry said all of the alcohol found in her body "could come from the decomposition process."
Sperry said investigators did not have enough specimen to test for steroids or human growth hormone in Daniel's body. Daniel's body showed signs of needle marks at the time of his death, but Sperry could not speculate why.
District Attorney Scott Ballard would not answer questions about the state of the investigation into the Benoits' deaths, which he said is ongoing.
"We'd rather wait until we have more of the pieces so we can be more accurate and discuss more of a whole what happened," he said. "We're trying to envision as best we can what happened inside that household. This (the toxicology report) adds one element to all the other elements."
Police have said Benoit, 40, strangled his wife, Nancy, and suffocated Daniel, then placed Bibles next to their bodies before hanging himself on a portable weight machine over the weekend of June 23.

Well, this may not have been a cause of roid rage. I was thinking that is what caused this man to lose it and said as much in a previous entry. Perhaos, he was overly medicated and had mental health problems that he kept from many people. I still think his employer, the WWE, did not care as long as Benoit brought in the dough. I am sure it was a case of he is a moneymaker, so it does not matter what his mental state is or what is contributing to his lack of sanity. As long as it did not interfere with their business, they saw no reason to raise one eyebrow or speak out. It was only after he failed to make a pay-per- view match that the authorities in Georgia were contacted.
Benoit's son was found to have drugs in his son that no physican in his right mind would prescribe to a child. The same drugs were found in his mother and father. That makes one wonder who gave the medication to the boy and if Benoit may have lost it because his wife gave the drugs to the child. We will never know. The investigation continues. The Georgia Medical Examiner's Office may crack this one yet. For the families of the three people who died that weekend, I do hope some answers can be found.

Since I started a new job last week and was low on funds, I did not get to see the latest Harry Potter movie until today. My roommate saw it last night. She is a Harry Potter purist and did not like the creative license the director, Mr. Yates, took with JK Rowlings work. I understand that the fifth book was darker than the previous four novels and since many parents take their children to see these movies at young ages, I can see why some much was left out and changed.
The actress playing Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter) was the best choice for the role. I do hope her sister , Narcissa , shows up in the next movie. I would love to see who gets that part. Bellatrix is protrayed as bat shit crazy and I would have it no other way. Sirius (Gary Oldman) was less scrappy in this movie, but it was dead on. Parts of the book were changed, so the purists out there are going to hate it. I hope the next movie changes their minds.
If you are planning to see the movie, pay particular attention to the characters of Luna Lovegood and of Neville Longbottom. Neville does some serious changing. Luna is someone that is not as crazy as some would like to believe.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Al Qaeda is stepping up its efforts to sneak terror operatives into the United States and has acquired most of the capabilities it needs to strike here, according to a new U.S. intelligence assessment, The Associated Press has learned.
The draft National Intelligence Estimate is expected to paint an increasingly worrisome portrait of al Qaeda's ability to use its base along the Pakistan-Afghan border to launch and inspire attacks, even as Bush administration officials say the U.S. is safer nearly six years into the war on terror.
Among the key findings of the classified estimate, which is still in draft form and must be approved by all 16 U.S. spy agencies:
# Al Qaeda is probably still pursuing chemical, biological or nuclear weapons and would use them if its operatives developed sufficient capability.
# The terror group has been able to restore three of the four key tools it would need to launch an attack on U.S. soil: a safe haven in Pakistan's tribal areas, operational lieutenants and senior leaders. It could not immediately be learned what the missing fourth element is.
# The group will bolster its efforts to position operatives inside U.S. borders. In public statements, U.S. officials have expressed concern about the ease with which people can enter the United States through Europe because of a program that allows most Europeans to enter without visas.
The document also discusses increasing concern about individuals already inside the United States who are adopting an extremist brand of Islam.
On a positive note, analysts concluded that increased international efforts over the past five years "have constrained the ability of al Qaeda to attack the U.S. homeland again and have led terrorist groups to perceive the homeland as a harder target to strike than on 9/11."
Those measures helped disrupt known plots against the United States, the analysts found.
National Intelligence Estimates are the most authoritative written judgments that reflect the consensus long-term thinking of senior intelligence analysts.
Government officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the report has not been finalized, described it as an expansive look at potential threats within the United States and said it required the cooperation of a number of national security agencies, including the CIA, FBI, Homeland Security Department and National Counterterrorism Center.
National security officials met at the White House on Thursday about the intelligence estimate and related counterterrorism issues. The tentative plan is to release a declassified version of the report and brief Congress on Tuesday, one government official said.
Ross Feinstein, spokesman for National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell, declined to discuss the document's specific contents. But he said it would be consistent with statements made by senior government officials at congressional hearings and elsewhere.
The estimate echoes the findings of another analysis prepared by the National Counterterrorism Center earlier this year and disclosed publicly on Wednesday. That report -- titled "Al Qaeda better positioned to strike the West" -- found the terrorist group is "considerably operationally stronger than a year ago" and has "regrouped to an extent not seen since 2001," a counterterrorism official familiar with the report's findings told The Associated Press.
On Thursday, news of the counterterrorism center's threat assessment renewed the political debate about the nature of the al Qaeda threat and whether U.S. actions -- in Iraq in particular -- have made the U.S. safer from terrorism.
At a news conference Thursday, President Bush acknowledged al Qaeda's continuing threat to the United States and used the new report as evidence his administration's policies are on the right course.
"The same folks that are bombing innocent people in Iraq were the ones who attacked us in America on September 11," he said. "That's why what happens in Iraq matters to security here at home."
Yet Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller, D-West Virginia, said Iraq has distracted the United States. He said the U.S. should have finished off al Qaeda in 2002 and 2003 along the Afghan-Pakistan border.
Instead, "President Bush chose to invade Iraq, thereby diverting our military and intelligence resources away from the real war on terrorism," Rockefeller said. "Threats to the United States homeland are not emanating from Iraq. They are coming from al Qaeda leadership."
Rockefeller, who voted in favor of toppling Saddam Hussein, called for the U.S. to end its involvement in what he called the Iraqi civil war.
In recent weeks, senior national security officials have been increasingly worried about an al Qaeda attack in the United States.
Appearing on a half-dozen morning TV shows Thursday, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff laid out a list of factors contributing to his "gut feeling" that the nation faces a higher risk of attack this summer: al Qaeda's increased freedom to train in South Asia, a flurry of public statements from the network's leadership, a history of summertime attacks, a broader range of attacks in North Africa and Europe, and homegrown terrorism increasing in Europe.
"Europe could become a platform for an attack against this country," Chertoff told CNN, although he and others continue to say they know of no specific, credible information pointing to an attack here.
National security officials are frustrated by an agreement last year between Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf and tribal leaders in western Pakistan, which gave tribes near the Afghan border greater autonomy and has led to increased al Qaeda activity in the region.
Nevertheless, Bush administration officials still view Musharraf as a partner.
Speaking to a congressional hearing, Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher said that Pakistan under Musharraf has captured more al Qaeda operatives than any other country and that several major Taliban leaders were captured or killed this year.
"There is a considerable al Qaeda presence at the border, but they are under pressure," Boucher told a House national security subcommittee.
Rep. Jim Cooper, D-Tennessee, was skeptical, saying Osama bin Laden and other terrorist leaders apparently feel safe there. "Is this a Motel 6 for terrorists?" he asked. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend.

Our president has made the claim many times before that we are fighting a fight that we cannot afford to lose. Of course, he first meant the fight to oust Sadaam from Iraq. Then he was on to his next mission- bringing democracy to Iraq. While the "Decider" was playing the great liberator to the Iraqi people and making a mess of things in their homeland, al-Qaeda got stronger and found more willing terrorists. The US military wishes they could recruit that well.
Bush spread his administration and the military too thin with trying to fight al-Qaeda and take care of Iraq. Maybe Bush is not a great multi-tasker and should stick to one thing until he is finished. Maybe he should have Karl Rove tell him when one mission is accomplished and when to move on to the next one. OR he could seek advice from his father. I doubt if George Sr would have recommended fighting in two countries in the Middle East at the same time. Perhaps, Georgie Boy is ADD (Attention-Deficit Disorder) and could benefit from some medication.
We all knew we had a problem with terrorism . We also knew that most of the problem was coming from the Middle East. All 9/11 did was drive the point home and let Bush have a reason to go after al-Qaeda. Talk about a missed opportunity. If he had focused on the task at hand and left Iraq alone, we would have stood a great chance at getting Osama and putting the death nails in the coffin of al-Qaeda. Of course, there would have been other terrorist groups to deal with . That is a reality in today's world. However, by staying out of Iraq until we finished with Afghanistan, we could have prevented providing al-Qaeda with a handy training ground and recruitment area.

Just about everyone knows at this point that Isaiah Washington got fired for saying a remark against homosexuals in private. I am watching a replay of Larry King Live. Isaiah Washington is the guest. Apparently, Mr Washington claims to have many gay friends.
This remark was made in private. Yes, what he said is very hurtful and I do not like that the remark was made. However, TR Knight and other members of the cast made it public. Somebody did. That was wrong. Now, every homosexual in the country got hurt and offended. Should that have been addressed? Yes and it could have been done in such a way that no-one felt hurt. Now, people are wondering if Washington got fired from Grey's Anatomy , because he was a African-American male who said the wrong thing. That may not be the case. It is just an issue we could have avoided dealing with in the first place, if someone had been thinking. I have a neighbor who made a racial remark not too long ago. I had two reasons I did not broadcast that. One is someone else would have been hurt by the remark just as much as I was by it. Also, my neighbor needed to hear from me why the remark was wrong. I did not need to provoke another person to hurt him. What good would that do? None. Nada.
I wonder if Washington did not already have a few enemies and someone was looking for an excuse to get him fired. That is just my little theory. I have seen employers go on fishing expeditions to have reason to fire someone. The problem with that is whenever you go on one of those, you will find something. The same could be said if someone did it to you , the fisherman or fisherwoman.
Before the moron got banned again or his account got deleted, this is the message I sent him and his response. Notice how he does not know how to use the words to or too. I imagine I used it correctly in my message to him. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah a place of satin such as imagesinwords, and that other guy, and anyone who has to do with this site. People who are family here don't do that to other family by deleting there accounts, or suspending them. I don't think you all know what family is, and I don't think Imagesinwords knows either. So if your reading this Imagesinwords, you better think good long, and hard about what I said. This is my last time of coming here so you can just screw yourself if your not going to talk to me about this. Your not going to be able to change me by deleting, or suspending my accounts. I actually need you to talk to me instead of sneaking around like the koward you are doing this. Just talk to me you might be supprised. To everyone else, just hear me out and don't do this!

Why should anyone hear him out? He is constantly berating people and angry that he is not allowed to get away with it. He should just calm down and realize he will not win friends or support with this. No-one wants to be bothered with this. Images should not have to deal with someone who is clearly intent on hurting as many people as possible.
Perhaps, the rave is on the Internet and some people on this site feel they do not have to respect anyone, let alone the staff. I am not a member of staff and do not particularly want that job. They cannot come on this site and just enjoy themselves. No, they have to deal with morons who think they are above the rules set forth by the owner of the site, Cancer.
If you cannot follow simple rules and instructions on the rave, then it seems to be you are probably non-functional in life. If you are disrespecting the staff on the rave, then it also follows that you are probably one disrespectful oaf in real life. Maybe you are Oppostional Defiance Disorder (ODD) or you are one of those people that coudl be easily called a socipath. Or you just feel that you can do whatever you want because this is on the net. I am here to tell you no!!!!!!!!!!
The staff on this site are human beings and should be treated as such. Some of them have busy lives outside the rave and we are all blessed they give some of their time to us. They are not babysitters or peacemakers. They are here to make sure things are running smoothly and that Cancer does not return to find his site a mess. The man is a busy man. He goes to school. Maybe some of you need to read the journals of Cancer and his staff. I can guarantee you they are not the whiny, my life is a mess type things you see from some of the rave. These people present themselves with intelligence and grace. They let you know they are busy and they also let you know they will try to find time for things on the rave that are not silly or stupid.
I had to message three people. Two were staff . Some moron wanted to make a profile just to get at one particular person. I was livid. I did rate them a ten to stay off their bad side. My temper is too hot and too Irish to get involved in a personal disagreement for long. I could get myself banned or cause major damage rather quickly. Especially if I go to defending someone who I feel was unjustly put in a bad light.
If you cannot act like a responsible human being and cannot show respect to others on this site whether they are staff or not, do me a favor. Please find another site to go on to. Go rate people on Hot or Not. Play around on MySpace. Create your own website. I do not care. Just stay off the rave.
It is becoming increasingly obvious to me that no-one that Chris Benoit worked for in the World Wrestling Entertainment empire gives a damn what their athletes/ entertainers are doing to their bodies. I am sure this has been the case for awhile and is common in other areas of the entertainment world. The bottom line seems to be the main focus. Wrestling for entertainment is big business. I have watched it. I have loved it, but will not watch it again. It has been years since I looked at it and now I am sure that it is not something I want to see. I still love the wrestlers I have seen. Shawn Michaels, Brett the Hitman Hart, Ted Dibase, and yes Chris Benoit among countless others have kept me entertained and on the edge of my seat. Yes, I was aware it was all rigged for my benefit. I just cannot continue to watch men exploited and their health disregarded so others can walk away rich.
Do you really think Vince McMahon and others that are upper management are required to be as buff as Benoit and the other wrestlers? The doctors that prescribed the medicine are guilty of murder. The higher the law goes to get the people behind the scenes the more likely this type of behavior will be frowned upon. Yes, Benoit had personal accountability in what happened. Domestic violence is the reason his wife and son is dead. I am sure he has had this problem in the past. Many athletes are violent and have anger problems. That does not excuse the behavior or explain it away on its own. When is the last time you heard that Michael Jordan or Larry Bird has been arrested for domestic violence? Jordan allowed his wife to obtain a divorce. Some have said Nancy Benoit wanted out.
Reports say that the doctor prescribed Benoit a ten month supply of anabolic steroids every three months. Did he take all of these steroids? I think maybe so. Maybe not. Many things contributed to this crime and suicide. One of the things is the employer does not care. That much is apparent. Employers should know their employees pretty well. Especially if these same employees are given million dollar contacts and bringing in way more for the organization.
Let's see. At 5 am , I was up doing dishes. I went back to bed and Stacy called to remind me to get up so we ( Tia and I) could go to Stacy's for the fourth. I called a couple of friends from my old job to tell them Happy Fourth of July. One (Mr Man that I like and probably always will) just had to answer when I was thinking go to voice mail. I did enjoy talking to him. He is one of those people I could talk to for hours. ( I am sure he is not thrill with that all the time. ) I did advise him not to eat a lot of red meat today. I did inform him I would eat some brisket.
I got the brisket. Today was Curtis' birthday. ( Curtis is Stacy's fellow. So far, he has been the best man she has ever had. ) I also had cake. My little butt ( it may end up being bigger) will have to watch what I eat for the next couple of days. Tia was well-behaved and played video games. She is shy around new people. I can get annoyed around anyone, but I can roll with the punches in a group if I choose to.
Ok, women do not marry a guy and hit a rough patch in the marriage and then refuse to have sex with him. Are you wanting him to cheat? The man may not verbalize the fact that he feels undesirable. That is something a woman will do. Men need to know you still want them. It is a human thing, not a gender thing. Men have to do their part in a marriage as well, but expecting someone to do without sex is really like expecting a fish to do without water. Everyone has needs.
It was good to see Curtis' mother. She had to have surgery recently. She is a good person and it was good to see her doing well.
I had a nice conversation with two different people at different times. Curtis' sister-in-law is intelligent, but she has similar problems to me. Judd is the person with the marriage trouble. I hope things work out for him. I have been in a troubled marriage. It is hell. It is not nothing short of toture at times.
Here's hoping whoever reads this had a great and safe fourth of July.
Yesterday I finally got a hold of my mother. Her phone messes up a lot, so I just wait awhile to call her. Apparently some people in my family on her side are not having the luck of the Irish recently. They are Irish so that is what is kinda sad about this.
My cousin is expecting her first child and has gestational diabetes. She is on insulin. I am worried about her. She has always had a weight problem and I am sure that is a contributing factor. I am hoping she allows the doctors to closely watch her and is following doctor's orders. This could get bad if she does not.
The same cousin in the above paragraph has a brother who is a moron behind the wheel of a car. Apparently, his sister is just as bad. They have wrecked many a car for my uncle. I would have stopped them from driving my car by now. The last wreck the boy had was when he hit a lot of gravel. The car was totaled and he walked away with a few scratches. He is lucky there. Hopefully, this will teach him a lesson. I do not want to see a younger cousin get buried.
My mom's younger sister and her ex husband have both recently had wrecks. Apparently, the ex husband who I still consider an uncle reinjured a ankle that had been injured beforehand. My aunt ended up in a neck brace. Neither one of them are morons behind the wheel, so I doubt if they were pulling the same stunts as my cousins.
My brother is quite an interesting person. It is good to know that he is against racism as much as I am. That says a lot about who brought us up, since we are coming from the same household. A woman from Michigan really blew apart some of his theories about who is racist and who is not. My brother lives in Mississippi and felt that the state was the worst of the lot. This woman started talking about uppity Black people and that incensed my brother. Plus, she is a surgical nurse. He thought like I once did that educated people would not fall for hating someone based on the color of their skin. He learned two hard lessons there. Geographical location and a good education may not stop what someone was taught as a child or what they allow themselves to become. My brother gets called a womanizer because he has had a number of girlfriends. The people who say this do not realize that he has not gone to bed with everyone of them. If he is realizes they are not clicking, he puts a stop to it , before sex enters the picture. Plus, he is friends with quite a few females. He is the male version of me. I enjoy men just as friends. Not every man I run across needs to be in my bedroom doing certain things. I do not like to run in packs with other women. It is not smart for a female to do so. Women can be the most cruel to each other and will do things to each other that makes them look like anything but the weaker, fairer gender. I knew this before I got to high school. The females I was around showed me that much. Not all females are like that, but put them in a pack and just watch. Things get really scary quickly. I will not feel safe that way.
