The Superdome in New Orleans opened for business tonight. The Saints won. That is great and I hope the Saints continue to do well. I just cannot help but think how do those who lost everything in Hurricane Katrina must feel? Many of them have not been able to rebuild their homes, but I am sure millions was spent to get the Superdome ready for tonight.



Hurricane Katrina and the victims of the hurricane may not be all in the news like this time last year, but I hope the nation does not forget that there are still people who have not been able to completely rebuild their lives.

Today is just another day. Hopefully, Mikhail will be back on the Rave today. He moved to another place and for what he is saying in his journal things are going okay. I am glad. I was worried at first. He has some problems with his spouse's grandmother. The lady is old and her mind goes somewhere scary from time to time. The lady will make things up and blame Mikhail for things he did not do. Apparently, the grandmother loves Mikhail's pasta salad. That has made her happy. Maybe Mikhail's talent for cooking will make this woman see the good in him.



I was reading through the journals on my favorite's list and was appalled by the stupid rude people on the rave. Apparently, many on my favorite's list are constantly being bothered by morons. Either someone is sending flaming , hateful messages or are looking at someone's profile and journal over and over again. They do not leave a comment or send a message. For those of you who do not know, a premium member can see the last ten people who viewed their profile and journal. Also, they can see who has been viewing their portfolio. Each person has different boundaries. Some find it unsettling to have a person they do not know always looking at their things on the Rave. Also, premium members can see who has rated them and what they are being rated. So profile bombing them is going to get you in trouble. A word to the wise should be sufficent.



Our president is at the UN today. I missed his speech and I am glad. I am waiting to hear what the president of Iran has to say. The newspeople seem to think we are heading to war with Iran. I hope not. Our troops are stretched beyond belief. We do not have the manpower for another war. What are they going to do start the draft again? Iraq is a mess. The Iraqi government is still unable to deal with the violence over there. The news is that American troops are not coming home anytime soon. How long are we going to be over there? Our troops are tired and many of them are on their second or third tour of duty.

I was watching Tucker Carlson earlier today on MSNBC. I usually enjoy his news show and he admits that he is an obnoxious jerk at times. You have to love someone that can tell the truth about themselves.



Anyway, there was a story about PETA (People for the Ethcial Treatment of Animals) on his show. I am not against PETA. I have always thought they did good things for the animal kingdom. I am not a member and am more concerned with other issues. I just do not normally find them to be one of those annoying special interest groups.



PETA has decided to say that the crocodile hunter, Steve Irwin deserved to die, for provoking dangerous animals in the wild. Wait a minute. He did not wear animal skins. I do not recall him ever saying he was a big supporter of using animals for medical testing. In fact, he was trying to protect endangered species. He ran a zoo. His whole life was dedicated to animals. Has PETA lost its mind? Perhaps they need another spokesperson. Whoever told this to the media is not playing with a full deck.

Soemtimes I wonder how I get pulled into the middle of family stuff. It is not like I am the great peacemaker or mediator . I am more hostile than anything else and have a tendency to make things worse than better. Apparently, my sister is blaming my mother for everything that ever went wrong in her life. My sister has had an addiction to prescription painkiillers. That did not start until she left home. She was a registered nurse, but quit working as one, when she went to rehab. I am wondering what kind of rehab did she go to? I have been to AA for my drinking. They did not teach me to blame my parents or anyone else for the bad choices I made. Personal accountability does come into play somewhere.



Anyway, I talked to my sister via Yahoo messenger on Sunday. She said she had given her new phone number to our brother to give to our mother. She doubted if he gave it to her. My brother and sister have a long history of not getting along. Well, without knowing the next part, I volunteered to pass the number along.



Apparently, my sister called my mother or our mother scum on myspace. That was just wrong. My sister is not a teenager and should have known better. She let one of my mother's best friends be on her friends list and my mom was informed about what she had written. She was angry and hurt. Why she had to do that on the Internet is beyond me? Anyway, my mother is now saying that she does not want my sister at her funeral. Ok, so if we tell my sister when my mother dies, how do we keep her from the funeral? That would not be the time to have a family drama. Our father has already passed. We only have one parent left. If I do not tell her, I would consider that being a cold hearted bitch. She would have every right to hate me then.



Of course, this may all be a moot point. My mother may outlive both of us. One never knows.

I went to work tonight and they only needed 11 people. I decided well if they want me to go home, I will. I will work Sunday and get holiday pay, since my hours will carry over until Monday. Woo Hoo! I need all the money I can get. Who doesn't?



I have had a headache for about an hour now. Since I am an addict who is trying to recover from being a drunk I cannot take prescription headache medication. The headache has gotten better, but my ability to think is leaving me at a rapid rate.



I noticed that MRD started a new coven. I wish him the best of luck. He is one great dominar and has always assisted me, when I needed help. I recommend his journal as well. It is one of those must reads.



My roommate is now on the Rave. Her user name is leo8280. She is at work and has some serious work to do to her profile. She was waiting for her premium membership to kick in. I am sure she will spruce up her profile soon.
