Christmas time.... yet again....

Most people like this time of year. Personally, I find it annoying. It was December 2nd and people are already saying "Merry Christmas" to everyone. Granted, it is a proclamation of good will towards another, but seriously, we are just getting over Thanksgiving. Most people haven't even finished digesting their leftovers from that day of utter gluttony when it's "Merry Christmas that" or "Merry Christmas this" or "Only X amount of shopping days left".

For fuck's sake. It's not even been December for a week and there are already decorations and lights everywhere one can see. Wait till it's at least December 15th or another date closer to the actual holiday before going insane with all of this crap. Are people so obsessed with getting presents and free junk from others and add to your already overloaded horde of material possessions that you'll end up only using for a few weeks then discarding? I pity the people who have to clean out the house after these persons die. So much crap and unopened presents and so little time.

Did you know that up to 70% of presents given at Christmas end up getting traded back in for something else? People don't even appreciate what they get when they get it. Of course, this is nothing new to me. I have seen it time and time again with many things people get but don't value. Apparently the thought no longer counts in the eyes of the modern human. It doesn't matter to most people that someone went out, thought of you and found an item they thought you might like or could use, spent their hard earned money and gave it to you out of the affection they inexplicably feel for you?

No, most do not.

A cousin of mine from my father's side, probably the only one of that bloody lot I actually liked, got me a sweater for Christmas. It was too big and not my taste. But, Amy was always nice to me, so I smiled, said thank you and put it on. I didn't like it, but it was given out of love.

Know where that sweater is today? I'm wearing right now even as I type this. Know why? BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING COLD OUT AND THIS THING IS WARM! That's why. Granted, I will NEVER wear it outside or in public, but I will wear it now, in my room in the winter. It keeps me warm and I sleep like a log in it.

So, this holiday season, try not to go insane with Christmas. Yeah, it's a... pleasant holiday, but keep it within the bounds of reason. And if someone gives you something you don't like, don't trade it in. Keep it. Find a use for it. Don't let someone's good intentions end up as a forgotten relic of yet another Materialmass past.

PS. The Christmas season also sees the highest number of deaths by suicide than any other, even beating Valentine's day.

.....stick that in your eggnog and drink it MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I have decided to wipe my entire journal.

Why?

Because it is full of mistakes. Mistakes that have been set right and dealt with once and for all.
