Alec barely ducked in time as the sword swung at the spot he'd been leaning his head. He grabbed Eric by the sleeve and dragged him along as he ran.
Shaun was getting more confident as the hunt went on. He got a little closer each time and his prey got that much more afraid. He knew their next mistake would be their last.
He let them get a little lead and tracked them. He grinned at their foolishness when he realized where they were going, they'd trapped themselves. He stepped quietly into the little cave until he reached the back of it, enough daylight filtered in to see by. His prey were pressed against the wall farthest from the opening, shaking in fear.
"Don't worry," he said, "this is about to be finished." Alec swallowed and Eric closed his eyes as he swung his blad around.
He heard his sword clang against stone and had to stop to sort out what happened. He had a little trouble getting it all to make sense. He was about to kill the two of them but then something happened and now his rest and chest hurt. He looked down and focused on the face of Alec crouched in front of him. He had a dagger in each hand, one he'd stuck in the wrist of Shaun's sword hand and the other had been jammed up under his ribs. He tried to say something but choked on something thick and warm. He sputtered a little and saw blood drip from his mouth to the floor.
Alec stood straight and ripped his blades from the man's body. He watch with cold detachment as it fell lifeless to the floor.
"Poor fool, thought you had the advantage. You didn't realize that I let you hunt me so I could better make you my prey."
