The dark has swallowed me

My way is unknown, my path gone

your soul has flown from this world

lonliness has become my companion

love and laughter are a fleeting glance

over my shoulder I feel a tug

a motion, a breeze of air

as time goes and my soul aches

the emptiness feels all consuming. yet

on bended knees, tears upon skin, darkness all around

path of life long hidden from my eyes, I scream and endless scream.



without warning a light begins to shine

not sure what I am seeing, as I stare with tears upon skin. The light becomes a flame. I hear your voice and feel your firm hand guiding me. my feet begin to walk of their own accord. suddenly laughter flows from a mouth.

thats my mouth, those are my giggles, there is my path, here is my life



May you always go before and with me, may your love and soul always be my guiding flame.

Forever will I hold you close and laugh with you often.

awe well thank you. She is a dear sweet friend, I wrote this for her after a relative passed and she couldnt find her light. I don't write as often as I would like to. perhaps I should pick it back up. It made her smile and that was my goal.
