I have no words...

00:49 Jun 22 2026

Last week I prepped and made a bunch of food for company this weekend. The in-laws came in to town on Friday. Brother-in-law and spouse on Saturday. Boating, food, concerts. Hanging out with family and visiting with people you see once or twice a year, Then this evening I get a call from my BFF of 30+ years. I call her back after we finish watching a show and she tells me her mom , basically has cancer through-out her body and will have to be on palliative care. How do you console anyone with that? Her mom is in Tennessee and she is in Northern Indiana. I offered to help with her animals (she has a lot) But she lives 2+ hours from me. I do not know what else I can do. I offered. My heart is breaking for her.

Moms Visit

The last time I saw my mom was last year. Her and my sister who I had not seen in 8 years came down for a visit for Covered Bridge fest which is a big deal in my area of the state for a fall festival. You can look it up. So currently, my mom got here on the 20th of May, and left on the 1st of June. Just in that short of amount of time I can see how her age is catching up to her (She is 83) and she can still run circles around my younger sisters since they are not physical like she is or I am. Like laying heavy landscape blocks, or shoveling gravel type stuff. But I talk to her often, and she lives with my sisters, and was worried about power washing the deck. I was like f-that. It is my sisters house and not her responsibility. My middle sis which is the least physical of the house said she would do it. LOL We will see, If she does commit, my mom will be making sure she does it right and then thee will be a spat. This darn thing got long and off track, but it sucks to face the reality that my mom is having a hard time and she said she has gotten in her own head about aging and not being able to do things like she once did. Cherish what you have if you have it.
