Been busy for the past three day painting the kitchen. I have a little more to go before I’m finished then it’s time to move onto the dining room.
Garlic honey has started to ferment. Apple vinegar is fermenting once it stops bubbling I will strain it and bottle and let it ferment some more.
Back to painting..
I see a pattern emerging…which makes me think my choice was in fact a good one.
In other news the bread making went better than I expected. It was a hit with everyone. Sooo…I decided I would be making my own bread and purchased a 2 gallon container for flour it comfortably fits 10 pounds of flour.
My kombucha is now the best it’s ever been because I’m finally able to know when it’s ready not to mention with the temperature being much lower in the house it’s not fermenting too quickly for me to keep up with it.
I’m also in the process of fermenting apple vinegar. I will also be fermenting garlic honey for glazes and as a cold remedy. Both of these things are new but now that I’m a little more comfortable and familiar with the fermentation process I feel I should branch out and try more new things.
My one big goal is making mead or hard cider. ;)
Been busy the past three days. Apparently a big snow storm is coming so good thing I got my grocery shopping done.
Been in a baking mood. So been baking cakes and chocolate chip muffins.
Next is apple crisp.
Dinner last night was my famous ham and cheese sliders.
Not sure what it is about the winter that makes me want to bake.
I also started a second ferment of cherry almond kombucha which is just about ready to be put in the fridge.
I’m going to try my hand at making home made bread.
Eventually I have been thinking about trying to make mead. Seems simple enough but requires more instruments for measuring alcohol content and a special fermentation lid and wine yeast. That I don’t have yet.
I have missed you and how completely comforting you are to my spirit.
Balancing, safe and reassuring.

I hope you continue to have this for years to come.
Thank you. It’s different than what I have been used to in the past.
