In the middle of the night
I feel safe in his arms
The touch of his hand
As he brushes my skin
Our hearts beating as one
I look into his eyes
And I see them filled with love
His soft kisses push away my fears
Then the morning light shines bright
Bringing back with it the pain and doubts
As everyone around us fights and criticize
The Gods want us to be happy
But our families and the world
Bring us down
Ripping our pleasant dreams apart
I love him more then life itself
Want no other but him to stand beside me
But all those around us
Scorn our ways
And deny this path we are on
They hate what we are
Who we are
And can't let us be
We try to do right
To be kind and fair
But they burn the bridges between us
Making us almost regret the choices
That we have made
I love him dearly
In his arms I am strong
Away from him I am weak and wounded
A scared animal hidden behind unbreakable walls
Why can't they see
We are meant to be
Allow us to live in harmony
He begs me to be strong
But as the days go on
It gets harder to feel
I begin to wonder if this worlds not right
Thinking this is wrong
But knowing it is not
That I am meant to be here
Held tight in his arms
Warm in the night
Hoping I felt strong in the light
