To Be Broken

The darkness calls out from somewhere between time

to force upon me some new felt horror or crime.

As the shards of my heart bounce off the floor below

they scatter about like pieces of a broken rainbow

The emptiness eats at my gut as it gnaws at my soul

for without him, I am only partly here, and not whole.

Like a dark sword piercing my spirit severing it in half

the pain seeps in staring through me with an evil laugh.

The fear rises from deep within escaping the walls I made

trying to seal my love in so i wouldn't have to be afraid.

Losing your love, the one, that makes you complete inside

leaving you lost, desperate for tears that you have cried.

My face is like a desert, dry and barren, thirsting for rain

My eyes are no comfort, empty from trying to rid the pain.

When tears flee from fear of falling, racing hot down my skin

so they may fall and join the rest in the pool caused by men.

Running, deep and deeper yet into the dark, until there is no light

it keeps me safe, protecting me from all that is not yet right.

For they say not to live in the darkness so evil, cruel and full of rage

but I say why not, for it is they, that prodded the tiger in its cage.

A light calls to me, it pulls at my heart and I beg myself to go to it

I am filled with fear, yet I long to be in your arms and be bit.

To feel you, see you, touch you and be one with your soul

all that I need to have is you to be happy and fully consoled.
