The Dark Auction

Welcome to the yearly Dark Auction. As most of you already know we here at the Greenwitch Foundation hold this special auction which auctions off both the light and dark side of “specialty instruments.” All proceeds from tonight’s auctions go strictly to the Vampire Communities of Transylvania. We have several high ticket items here tonight so let us begin.

The last auction for tonight is known as the Sally’s Lot. It consists of four instruments: clarinet, cello and two violins. Let it be known that Sally’s Lot collection must remain intact and the instruments cannot be broken up and sold individually. Safeguards have been put in place to assure compliance.

These fine instruments owned by Sally who her self managed to make a lucrative living by performing on trains, planes, and buses all over the world. Interviewed many times regarding why she would do something like this she always responded “I wanted to bring a little laughter to the every day people of the world.” She was also asked how she managed to make ends meet living like this to which she responded. “That a very kind gentleman she has never met aided her through others to guide her through her lessons and other facets of her life. She was further to say “I like to think of him as a very kind but dark thinking benefactor.”

While Sally was far from being an expert performer with exceptional abilities she none the less was able to give wonderful performances whatever the mode of transportation was. What makes these instruments so valuable is definably not the fact that she was an expert player but more of where she played and what motivated her to choose the names she did for them. So without further delay let us begin the bidding.

First on the block is Armand. Armand is not one of your high quality clarinets but yet does seem to produce a tone that is simply a delight to hear. It is made of African Blackwood with silver trim and keys. You may have noticed that there is an engraved white bat on the front of the bell. It is believed that its original cost was $795.00 in year 2001.

Second on the block is Andrei. Andrei is obviously a cello. Made from flamed maple and resonance spruce with ebony accessories and an oil varnish. On the back is a small black bat. At the time of purchase it was $1,200.00. Romanian made and a Stradivarius. When asked why buy a cello from Romania she simply replied “It was the cheapest one I could find.”

Now on to her most prized processions. The Two violins. They both recipitants of Pirogravala or Pyrography. Both of these violins are originals and are irreplaceable since the maker of them will not reproduce them again. As with the cello, the violins are Stradivarius.

Third on the block is the violin “Menangelo.” Menangelo is made of Italian spruce wood with ebony accessories. As you can clearly see Menangelo is a representation of Michelangelo’s “creation of Adam.” Menangelo is a nickname given to the violin by Sally. The violins are also known as “The Creation of Adam.” Romanian made and in the year 2006. The original purchase price was $4,500. It was given the nickname Menangelo because of Sally’s love of the novel Menoch by Anne Rice and her famous Vampire Chronicles. The name is derived from combining Michelangelo and Menoch.

The last on the auction block and Sally’s most cherished is the violin known as “Amadeo.” Again, Amadeo is the violins nickname because of her devotion to the vampire chronicles by Anne Rice. The real name is known as

The Couple” violin. Made in Romanian and from flame maple, resonance spruce with ebony accessories, and oil varnish. This is a very dark violin as depicted with a couple paying homage to a vampire holding a human skull and is set in a night theme. The violin at the time of purchase was worth $900.00. Here again, the unnamed maker will not produce any more of these.

So let us begin the bidding. We will start at $10,500…do I hear $10,600…no I hear $12,000 from the lady in the front do I hear another bid…$15,500 from the young man in the third row…is there another bid…no…it is a fine collection which will only increase with value in time…so it is $15,500 going once going twice…(and from the back of the room a voice yells out) $4 million…(pause and silence from everyone)…then the auctioneer says…do I hear another bid…no 4 million going once, going twice, SOLD to the gentleman in the back, who is I believe to be Prince Ameer Numan.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen for a wonderful auction. Sold to his Royal Highness Prince Ameer Numan for $4 million dollars.

Please join us in the reception hall to congratulate all the winners. Thank you and see you next year.
