The Goddess. Part 1

The snow gently falls as if to cover the forest in a soft blanket. I had been running for what seemed like forever as there are men on my tail. I had just recently failed a mission to assassinate a feared warlord. Tired and warn out I had fallen to the ground. My lungs burning from the cold air filling them as I start to feel my life slowly drift. The falling snow soon starts to become even more heavy as it slowly buries me as if to prepare my cold body for the long sleep.

My name is Johnathan. I am an assassin for hire. My recent job was to infiltrate a castle and kill a king who wrongfully taken the throne. The king was a glut and greedy that he killed the previous leader to take charge. The people had gathered as much as they can to pay me for my services. When I infiltrated the castle I made a fatal mistake...as I was about to sneak up on the king and cut his throat open as he slept a guard had walked in to warn him of an intruder. when I was spotted I had ran as fast as I can into the near by woods. The guards fired arrows at me and one hit me square in the shoulder. As I ran my blood slowed but I had lost too much in the process....the fact that I was able to run as long as I had was a miracle.

Now after everything said and done I was sure I was going to slowly die either from freezing to death or the amount of blood I lost.

"It is not your time warrior," a beautiful voice said.

At this point I slowly opened my eyes and saw a bright light. I thought I was dying and the tunnel was opening for me. But instead of me going in a woman walked out. This woman was wearing what appeared to be an old Greek gown that was pure white and lined with gold. She was carrying a sword in one hand and a rose in the other. "Warrior I will not allow you to die. As your Goddess I order you to stand." I scoff then groan in pain thinking this was all a dream.

She raises the rose and a warm sensation fills me. The cold of the snow seemed to disappear and my wound feels as if it was healed instantly. The warmth I was feeling was as if it were a warm breeze on a summer night. I slowly open my eyes and look up at her. She gives a warm smile to me and says, "Much better. My name is Aphrodite. The goddess of love. And you Johnathan are now my Knight

I slowly stand and look at her confused. "Wait wait wait...your knight? I'm just a lowly assassin who was on the Verge of death." She smiles and says, "Yes it may be true you are an assassin but you have a pure heart of gold. I would love to offer you your life and service to me...but in return as of this night you will take me as a lover. You will show me passion that a human would show another...and I in return will gift you a sword with unimaginable power."

I look down and then think for a moment. "And if I refuse?" She sighs and then looks me dead in the eyes and says "Then you will die and be given to Hades as was your destiny all along." I then ponder my choices. Do I accept her offer and bed her tonight for my life or refuse and give my life to suffer. I look up at her and nod. "Very well I will accept your offer."

She smiles at me then says, "Good now follow me to my home." She lifts the sword and swings as if cutting the air and opening a hole to a new world. A Bright light flows from the newly opened doorway to another world and the sight of a castle soon comes into vision.
