Dark red, the color of blood, engulfed the young child. Everything near became this color. She did not worry, though, for she was used to it.

The girl flew through a tunnel. She stared as things passed her, heading the opposite. Her little arms tried to reach for some of these things.

Her parents, her dog, the favorite shirt, the cute boy next door, being bullied at school. Many things she did pass by, but none were important. Well, not till she reached for one, and caught hold. She looked to it wonderfully, this memory of hers.

It was a rainy, fall day and a small girl roamed the park alone. No mother, no friends, just alone. Dampness filled her face, for her eyes could not hole anymore.

Her face, a slight tint of red, was mangled. Any small pressure to the wounds caused her to wince, creating pain.

The pace of small feet slowed till a tree appeared before her. She took the opportunity to rest.

“I’m… so tired…” the girl breathed painfully. She closed her eyes, and fell asleep against the tree.

This child, cold and hurt in the night, lay silent, she looked the age of ten, maybe eleven. She had rich, red hair, curled beautifully. Freckles shimmered upon her cheeks in the dim street lights around.

Not far off in the distance, footsteps lingered. There was something odd about them, though. They belonged to a tall, thin man, but sounded that of a child. As he walked he passed the girl, not noticing at first.

“Huh?” he turned to her. “A… child?” He scratched his head then kneeled to her.

Long, skinny fingers traveled through thick, black sleeves to the child’s brow. He examined her quietly, but ceased when she woke.

Rubbing her eyes and moaning a little, the child opened her eyes to unfamiliar ones. She began to scream, but was halted. Softness lay on her lips, filling the girl with ease.

“Where are your parents?” asked the mysterious man, in a serious, but nice tone. “Where are your parents?”

“I-I don’t know. They abandoned m-me..” She began to cry. The man became a blanket to the child, shielding her from the night and hurt.

“My name is Kyonen, Child, and I will protect you.” He gently pet her head. “I’ll become your Master, and I shall own you. You will be mine, and I will keep you safe.”

The girl clung to him and nodded. He smiled and picked her up. They left the lonely park together, fear no longer at hand.

One final statement stood as they traveled towards Kyonen’s home. “It’s very nice to meet you Master. My name is Eliza.”
