Spyware and Malware

Spyware is becoming a more serious problem each day. Authors of spyware and malware programs are getting better at writing programs that mimic standard windows behavior. Once your computer is infected, it can be difficult to remove.

There are 3 free programs out there that when used, offer superior spyware protection. Oftentimes, running an antivirus program is not enough. Many antivirus programs offer little or no spyware protection.

If your computer is infected, or you suspect your computer is infected, it is recommended that you perform the following steps in the following order. It will take a few hours to complete, depending on the hard drive space of your computer:

1. Download Spybot Search and Destroy. Update the program database. Do a scan.

2. Download AdAware by Lavasoft. Update the program database. Do a scan.

3. Download AVG Free Edition. Update the program database. Do a scan.

As previously mentioned, each of these programs is free.
