Webcams
Overview
Vampire Rave allows its members to broadcast webcam feeds. Usage is straightforward and simple. Plug your webcam in and go to the broadcast page. Click "accept" when your browser asks you if you want to allow access to your webcam and microphone. In just a few seconds you're up and running.
Requirements for viewing a webcam are simple:
A modern browser (we recommend Chrome).
Javascript must be enabled.
Cookies must be enabled.
In order to broadcast, you will need a webcam.
When you broadcast a feed you accumulate time (and Favor) that counts toward your status. If you're active in the chat channel and typing, you'll also accrue page views.
Vampire Rave's VampCams are on their 3rd iteration. The 1st version was launched in 2010 and it was Flash based. In 2017, Flash was being phased out and a new system was developed. Version 2 was very buggy and it was abandoned about 6 months later. The current version (version 3) was launched in 2021 and is quite stable. It is integrated with the VR chat server. |
