Awakening



The night was young and the moon was high when she got off work, too restless to sleep and too tired to care, she went off for a walk in the moon light.



The streets were quiet that night, the only sounds around here were those of the forests around her home and the nearby river sloshing in it's banks. Cool breezes wrapped around her as she made her way into the darkness, the calm of night beginning to squelch the chaos ringing in her mind.



Long shadows danced on the ground with the wind creating an interesting effect in the treeline, an almost human shape seemed to take form from them. The bent and twisted branches to her right seemed to make a figure in the trees but chalked it up to fatigue and the need for companionship in her silent walk. Again, she seen it, there in the trees. It was human but not, walking on two legs but still had an animal's face and build. What was it?
