Hello everyone. I guess I'll give a short bio of myself.
I go by the name Daecan as you can tell from my username. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on the U.S. Independence Day (July 4) but I'm not Hawaiian, not that it matters. I then moved to a small town in New Mexico called Las Cruses, which translated means the crosses, for about 7 years before moving to Texas. Nice place to live but definitely too hot and sunny.
Music is a huge part of who I am as a person. I enjoy classic rock, blues, swing, jazz, hard rock, metal, trance, drum'n'bass, etc. Pretty much anything but country, scream-o, or rap. I play drums and have been playing drumset for about 7 years, although I was in percussion/ drumline all through school. My favorite band is Tool as you can probably tell from my profile pic. Alex Grey does the artwork for the Tool albums and he is truly amazing. I got a chance to visit his museum in New York and I recommend seeing it if you are ever in the area. I have a poster of his above my drumset that I got from that museum.
I have blue eyes with a dark blue ring on the outside and a yellow ring around the middle. Brown hair with some red and blond mixed in. You can't really tell unless the light is shining on it. About 5'8, thin, not much muscle but I am stronger than I look ;P I've also worn a size 12 shoe since 8th grade and didn't hit my growth spurt until 11th. You can imagine the jokes that were made about that :P
As for my beliefs, I believe that there is more to the world we live in than meets the eye. I believe in life beyond the grave as I see spirits frequently. Not as often as when I was younger, but still pretty frequently. I believe that every living thing has its own energy and reason for being. Nothing and no one is here for no reason at all. I also believe that dreams hold more value to them than some might think. I myself have seen things happen in dreams before they occur in reality. I encourage people reading this to focus more on what your dreams are telling or showing you, it might just come in handy.
I also believe that family should be held very dearly. Not just biological family, but people that you consider family. People you would take a bullet for. I tell this to people who dislike their parents, or have made enemies out of who your greatest friends were. When I was 4 my parents got a divorce and I have not seen my father since. I don't even know his name and I barely remember what he looks like. To this day I wish he was here, or at least to get to talk to him again. As for the friends that I would take a bullet for, my once true family... I wish they were still around. I miss them every day. I made a huge mistake in my life to push them away, and I will regret it forever. I tell you all this so you can understand a little more about me as a person, and so you can read about the mistakes I have made and try to avoid them yourselves. These are the people that you can tell anything to without regret. Without these people in your life you have no one but yourself. Without these people you begin to bottle everything up inside and have no way to get it out. The House Kheperu (http://www.kheperu.org/) describes this in one of their articles like boxing up things and putting them in the basement one box after another. After a while not only will the boxes begin to add up, but they will start to fill with dust and spiders among other not so great things. Keep your friends and family dear to you and never take them for granted.
Other than that I'm a pretty easy going guy, I don't take offense to what anyone says about me, and I try to steer clear of drama and talking bad about anyone else.
