This is a profile that will not rate. May not climb up in status levels quick. Will not add any friends. Will not add journals. Will not block anyone. I may not be inducted. This profile was created to prove a point. A long time ago vr used to be fun. Now there are so many rules in place it detaches itself from that.

You can add me as a friend. You can add my journal. I won't be adding anyone or their journals for reasons previously stated. I will add the status updates to my journal so people can see the progress made and how different values are included in any status update.

Sure it's a community and a community needs some guidelines but laws to retract people from normal society is becoming somewhat insane. Let's first look as what vampire rave is all about.

The meaning of vampire from the dictionary means: A ghost or reanimated body supposed to leave the grave at night and suck the blood of living people. A person who preys ruthlessly on others.

The meaning of rave from the dictionary means: Talk wildly or nonsensically in delirium. An act or instance of great enthusiasm. A craze. An all night party.

Now, let's get to the REAL deal of vr as it stands now.

THE RULES FOR MEMBERS

1. A society can only mark 30% of its members. Any more will falsely inflate the status level of that society. This rule is a strange one. If a society has a certain amount of members then a member decides to go elsewhere or to leave vr completely and the overall society membership falls, the system now automatically removes the marks of all members remaining.

2. No page refreshers are allowed, this is classified as cheating. It too falsely inflates the status level. Considering that 50% of your status level comes from time spent online and the other 50% of your status level comes from pages viewed.

3. If you have more than 50 friends you get a bonus. Why add people you don't know as that too falsely inflates your status level.This bonus reflects how many Dark Network members have marked you as a friend. Since Friend Lists at the Dark Network a one-way in nature, and since you do not have direct control over who adds you as a friend, this bonus directly measures how well you are liked. This bonus can be negative when you have very few friends. It will always be negative when you're a new member. As you spend more time on the site and get to know more people, the number of Friend Lists you are on will grow. As a result, this bonus will move from negative into positive territory. 0 Friends equals a -3% penalty. The "break even" point, for a 0% bonus is 50 Friends. 600 Friends equals a 3% bonus. If you are on more than 600 Friend Lists your bonus will not climb above 3%. To compute your bonus, use the equation that is for the number of friends you have. If you are on less than 50 Friend Lists: Penalty = ( ( ( 3 * Friend Lists On ) / 50 ) -3 ) * .01.mIf you are on more than 50 Friend Lists: Bonus = ( ( ( 3 * ( Friend Lists On - 50 ) ) / 550 ) * .01

4. If you create a journal and people add it. They don't know you but your journal read by such and such number of people also inflates your status level. So by adding peoples journals and don't actually read them, then you are falsely inflating their status level as much as you are theirs. This bonus reflects how many members have marked your Journal as a favorite. It therefore measures how popular your Journal is. On 0 lists equals a 0% bonus and on 300 lists equals a 3% bonus. For entry values between 0 and 300 the bonus is scaled with the following formula: Bonus = ( ( 3 * Number of Favorite Lists On ) / 300 ) * .01.

An Example:
Your Journal is on 148 Favorite Lists. To compute your bonus:
Bonus = ( ( 3 * 148) / 300) * .01
Bonus = .0148 or 1.48%
This value is applied to your Base Score to compute the overall effect the bonus has on your Status. For example:
You Base Score = 48.54
48.54 * .0148 = 0.72
0.72 is added to your Base Score of 48.54, your Total Score (Status Level) is now 49.26.

5. Posting in the forums. If you don't post in the forums, you get no bonus. BUT, if you do and then don't for another 48 hrs then you lose that original bonus even though you've already posted. Value: 0% to 5%. This bonus reflects how many public posts you've made to Dark Network Forums. The maximum number of posts you can make, that will affect this bonus, is 2,000. You can make more than 2,000 Forum posts, but your bonus will not climb beyond 5%. 0 posts equals a 0% bonus and 2,000 posts equals a 5% bonus. For entry values between 0 and 2,000 the bonus is scaled with the following formula: Bonus = ( ( 5 * Number of Posts ) / 2000 ) * .01

An Example:
You've made 1,296 Forum posts. To compute your bonus:
Bonus = ( ( 5 * 1296) / 2000) * .01
Bonus = .0324 or 3.24%

This value is applied to your Base Score to compute the overall effect the bonus has on your Status. For example:
You Base Score = 38.96
38.96 * .0324 = 1.26
1.26 is added to your Base Score of 38.96, your Total Score (Status Level) is now 40.22.

6. The blocking feature. This was created for people who were being harrassed on vr. If a member gets more than 5 blocks on their profile they start receiving a penalty in their status levels. If you are on fewer than 5 block lists, this penalty does not apply to you. However, if you are on 5 or more block lists, this penalty will adversely affect your status. This penalty maxes out at -5%, when you are on 75 or more block lists. If you are on 5 or more block lists, use the following formula to compute your penalty: Penalty = ( ( 5 * ( Blocked Lists On - 4) ) / 71 ) * .01. Old blocks are automatically dropped by the system. An old block is a block placed by a member that has not logged into Vampire Rave for 6+ months. Now it is a game feature for imbeciles to abuse. People that are spiteful and vengeful for no particular reason use this feature unnecessarily. However, the person who gets blocked gets the penalty. The one that does the blocking also gets a penalty but people who abuse this feature should get a higher penalty than the ones they have blocked.

7. Rating. This is a great idea, but alas this too is abused. If you rate more than 30,000 items you get a 5% bonus. Some don't even look at the work that's been put into the profile, portfolio or database entry, they just rate as they feel without any consideration. Revenge rating has become more apparent as time goes by. For profile ratings this rule applies. This bonus reflects how many profiles, portfolios, database entries, and Vampire Rave articles you have rated throughout the Dark Network. The maximum number of ratings you can make, that will affect this bonus, is 20,000. You can make more than 20,000 ratings but your bonus will not climb beyond 5%. But this also includes your profile rating. Value: -3% to 3%. This bonus reflects the rating of your Profile. This bonus is applied against a fixed scale: The Rating System Tables. Because ratings of Dark Network Profiles are skewed unevenly on the high side, this bonus is also skewed toward the high side. If you do not create a Profile, your profile rating will be 0 and your penalty will be -3%. All new members start with this penalty. If you are a new member, the quickest method of increasing your Status is to create a profile and get it favorably rated. Doing so will at least get this penalty to zero (assuming your profile rating is at least 7.0).

8. Overblocks. This is an unknown territory for most. A penalty score is shown in your status updates but because most don't block for the fun of it, most don't know the penalty incurred. Value: -10% or 0%. This is an all or nothing penalty. If you have blocked more than 25 people you are given this penalty. The reasoning behind this penalty is that if you are blocking more than 25 people, you're doing something vindictive, or, you're really to blame for something because you're giving a bunch of "block backs". In either case, you can eliminate this penalty by keeping the number of members you block to 25 or less. If you block more, your status is penalized by 10%.

9. The mark of shame. Has anyone really seen this mark at all? The mark of shame was produced by the creator of this network for those that earn it, but what the hell does it look like?

10. Database submissions. Another shifty idea. Many people submit articles and other information to the database and get a bonus which is awesome, but it comes at a price. For articles they have to be your own work, yet when rating them you'll start to realise that some certain individuals get away with submitting other peoples works and for listing a bibliography without paraphrasing while others are downright denied. Value: 0% to 10%. This bonus reflects how many entries you've added to Dark Network Databases. The maximum number of submissions you can add, that will affect this bonus, is 2,000. You can submit more than 2,000 items to the database, but your bonus will not climb beyond 10%. 0 entries added equals a 0% bonus and 2,000 entries added equals a 10% bonus. For entry values between 0 and 2,000 the bonus is scaled with the following formula: Bonus = ( ( 10 * Number of Database Entries ) / 2000 ) * .01

An Example:
You've submitted 794 entries to the database. To compute your bonus:
Bonus = ( ( 10 * 794 ) / 2000) * .01
Bonus = .0397 or 3.97%

This value is applied to your Base Score to compute the overall effect the bonus has on your Status. For example:
You Base Score = 54.12
54.12 * .0397 = 2.15
2.15 is added to your Base Score of 54.12, your Total Score (Status Level) is now 56.27.

11. Cliques on the rave. It is highly noticeable that there's many of these silent and hidden groups on this network. Those who are administrators of this network stick together and once they do, no other member has a chance for free speech. These cliques believe themselves to be an elite group of people that are beyond the norm of the network.

12. Registration rules. There are a few requirements for a Vampire Rave account: You must be 13 years of age or older. By proceeding you acknowledge that you are above this age. You may not have multiple accounts. You may not post copyrighted work. You are getting something for free here. Placing demands upon the Administration is not only in bad taste, but will result in account removal. Your account may be terminated at anytime with or without cause. Again, you're getting something for free. Unlike other community driven websites, a profile is not required in order to sign up - just choose your login details. Logging in to Vampire Rave will allow you to rate profiles, send messages, and participate in other free Vampire Rave services. Use care in choosing your Vampire Rave username. Once chosen, it cannot be changed. Your username is the name you will be known by at Vampire Rave.

13. Are we having fun yet?
