John Carter, Warlord of Mars, are about to unfold. In Llana of Gathol, Carter rushes headlong into danger as he searches for his lost granddaughter, Llana. Mogel intends to conquer Mars. But first, he has to get around a very angry John Carter. In the second tale, Carter is kidnapped and taken to the faraway world of Jupiter where a warlike race known as the Morgors intend to have Carter serve them. The Morgors hope that he can give them the information they need to make Mars an easy conquest. But when Carter won’t oblige, he’s tossed into prison, with a slow and painful death as his reward. Unless, of course, he can somehow escape.
