Charlie McGee is a young pyrokinetic mutant girl who is the daughter of Andy McGee and Vicky Tomlinson. Andy and Vicky were involved with an experiment at a place called the Shop which was funded by the government. During the experiment, both Andy and Vicky were injected with an unknown drug, Lot Six. Lot Six altered their chromosomes and caused them to have special abilities. Andy was able to control peoples' minds and Vicky had some telekinetic abilities. The Shop eventually found out about the family's abilities and captured both Vicky and Charlie. By accident, the Shop agents killed Vicky. Andy was able to free Charlie, and immediately after they went into hiding. They escaped being caught by the agents several times, and eventually ended up at a small farm, which was the home to the Manders. After awhile, the McGees were found out and the agents came to take them, but they were able to escape because Charlie set the farm on fire. Again, they had been lucky enough to escape. After several months of living at Andy's grandfather's house, they were caught and brought to the shop. There they were drugged up and underwent many experiments. Andy was able to finally send a note to Charlie telling her about his escape plan by using his powers to change peoples' minds. Not long after, Andy was killed by a man named Rainbird. When Charlie found out, she set the entire Shop on fire and was able to escape. She told her story to a magazine in hope that they would publish her story, making it hard for her again be captured by the Shop.
