"Craving"
A Smallville High student's crash diet takes a horrifying turn and endangers her classmates in this eerie episode. When Jodi (Amy Adams) decides to shed some weight, she resolves to eat only the vegetables in her family's greenhouse, unaware that the soil has been poisoned by kryptonite. As the pounds melt away and Jodi's appetite grows, regular food isn't enough to satisfy her hunger and she seeks live prey—aided by jaws that expand like a snake's when she attacks. Clark's friend Pete (Sam Jones III) finds himself in harm's way when he develops a romantic interest in the newly svelte teen.
Although Jodi is not portrayed as a traditional vampire, the episode contained the following dialog:
Chloe looks around, spots a lab report, picks it up and starts reading.
Chloe: The lab report says the deer lost something like 80% of its body fat. It's like it's been liposuctioned to death.
Clark: [Facetiously] What do you think it is, Chloe - some fat-sucking vampire in town?
Chloe: This is Smallville, Clark - land of the weird, home of the strange.
(Later in the episode...)
Cut to the lunchroom at Smallville High. We see Chloe and Clark walking with lunch trays.
Chloe: I called the hospital this morning. Dustin's in a coma. His body went into shock from the loss of fat. He hasn't told the police anything.
Clark is sipping some chocolate milk.
Clark: Time to revisit the fat-sucking vampire theory.
Chloe: You know, if you hadn't been there, he probably would have died, Clark.
Clark: What I can't figure out is why anybody would want to steal body fat.

"Thirst"
Lana (Kristin Kreuk) decides to enroll at Metropolis University at the last minute and is forced to join a sorority to find housing at such a late date. However, her new sorority sisters offer her more than a place to crash after they turn her into a vampire and instruct her to kill Clark (Tom Welling). Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) applies for an internship at the Daily Planet, but the newspaper's formidable editor (guest star Carrie Fisher) may be more then she can handle.
