Le Vampire, Melodrame En Trois Actes (The Vampire, A Melodrama in Three Acts) is considered to be the first ever vampire play. It was written by Charles Nodier and used the character Lord Ruthven from John Polidori's The Vampire. The play premiered at the Theatre de la Porte-Saint-Martin on the 13th of July in 1820.
