This is one of the most incessant inquiries to come across Darkness Embraced and other sites alike. Unfortunately, neither I nor anyone else present on the internet can answer that question. We are not you and have no true sense of what is going on in there. You are the only one that can truly make this assessment.

The best advice that I can offer is to encourage you to read many of the articles and topics in the forum offered here. Make sure you have clarity on what a vampire truly is. To start you on your way, I suggest this article. Understanding that being a vampire is not about power, beauty and romance is crucial. There are no Frank Langella’s or female equivalences in our realms. No one is going to appear outside your window in the darkest hours with billowing mist behind them, embrace you in a eternal kiss, make you their eternal bride/groom and take you away from all your pain. As romantic as this may seem, this type of magic exists only on a Hollywood set. There are various downsides to our nature that creates hardship for many of us and it leaves very little to be desired.

Any symptoms you may exhibit to be “vampiric” such as lethargy, insomnia, migraines, etc, should undoubtedly be addressed by a physician before you even consider vampirism to be the cause. Many of these “traits” that you believe to be of a vampirisitic nature often mimic other disorders and ailments that could be life threatening if left untreated. There is no cause out there worth your health. Speak to your parents or family practitioner in regards to your symptoms (excluding the inclination that you may be a vampire) and be good to your self by getting a thorough examination. In the long run, you will be glad that you did.

If you are an adolescent, please understand that your body is going through an immense amount of changes and will continue to all the way into your early twenties. So many things are going on in your body that could have a tremendous impact on your physical and emotional state. Even things that may be considered bizarre to most are nothing more then your body reacting to these chemical changes. If they are severe with bouts of depression and anger, then you may require a little extra help from the medical profession to assist you in coping and getting through all these changes. It’s absolutely nothing to be ashamed of and it’s more common than you may think. Don’t make your self suffer needlessly.

Before you even conceive the notion of drinking blood, please educate your self on safety, blood issues, first aid, and any other information surrounding bloodletting. Drinking someone’s blood is a very serious thing. There could be various horrendous results to you and the person you engage bloodletting with if you do not know what you are doing. These irresponsible acts could have ramifications ranging from transmitted diseases to acute injuries/death to you and your donor. Please do not cut or drink your own blood to see if you are a vampire, this will by no means, validate your vampirism. If you have an obsession with doing this, please seek out help.

Take at least an hour out of your day to reflect upon your feelings and your inner self. One option that can assist you in this quest is to record any questions in a journal or notebook that has led you to make this query about your self in the first place. Make comparisons and abstracts, jot down thoughts, experiences, or anything that you feel pertinent to discovering the answer for your self. Over considerable time, you will become proficient in drawing your own conclusion as well as learning some new things about your self along the way. In between time, try observing conversations taking place on various forums and e-lists and ask questions to things that seem familiar to you. Give it a try; I promise that with effort on your part, you will have something to profit from this experience whether you conclude that you are a vampire or not.

But {Insert Site Name} stated that ultimately, the only sure way to tell if I am a vampire is to have another vampire sense if I am one or not.

This simply is not so, no matter what this website/person has said. The only grain of remote truth in that statement is that vampires are sometimes drawn to other vampires, yes. Sometimes, we are pulled to others of our kind unconsciously without any logical surface explanation. We may see a person in amongst a crowded room and become very compelled to them without actually being able to place a finger on exactly why.

However, it is important to realize that those we find strongly compelled to may not always automatically be of a vampiric nature. It’s very well possible that they could be Therian, Otherkin, old soul, or someone who is a natural energy worker such as a witch or shaman. Because of our shared parallels with enlightenment and sensitivity to energy, we are drawn to them as well. Sometimes narrowing someone one down as being a vampire can be complex and for this reason should be left to the latent to awaken and find their true self discoveries on their own.

Interference from a vampire validating what they "believe" to be another "vampire" can be destructive and in concise with the latents growth and spirituality if the awakened is misled down a path not true or meant for them. In my opinion, this can cause alot of turbulence and off balances for the already shaky knee'd awakening and should be avoided as much as possible. It's perfectly fine for a vampire to offer subtle support and guidance and reserve their speculation in secrecy, but it should not outrightly be validated by anyone but the awakened soul themselves.

If you are truly a vampire, you will know, all in good time, no one will need to confirm or validate this for you.

This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day,Thou canst not then be false to any man.
