String theory suggests that there is more than one dimension: with each of these realities possibly being an alternate version of ‘the original’. Taking this to be true, can you imagine where your Life may have diverged from one path, to form one of these alternate versions of your current ‘reality’?

If this is correct it seems likely these would be life and death situations, in which case I am dead many times over.

Yes, mine would have diverged into so many different dimension if I thought back to all of the huge decisions I have had to make. Each time I experienced a transition. Those were definitely trigger points for the creation of a different dimension :)

yes in mine also several points where it would have been drastic changes would have been completely different if the decisions were different

However, with these decisions and their diversions, I could see myself becoming a much better, or worse person. The person and life I have now is the happy medium I think :)

Maybe "our" current reality is not the "original".

Then another way of looking at it is , maybe each path of our alternate selves are the originals in these other dimensions.

I think the path that you are conscious in now, is the one your soul followed, and the other is merely just an extension of the life you live now.

Another way of perceiving it is to simply filter it all down and it is basically the "path not taken".

This is very interesting, to imagine your life could have diverged to an infinite amount of variations, or do you believe it would ultimatelly lead you to the same path?

I don't believe there are alternate realities, but if there were/are then there would technically be an infinite number of ways all our lives went. Every single decision going in an infinite number of ways. Its interesting to think about, but really I don't think it matters. Whether there are or aren't doesn't change the fact that this is the reality we are living, this is the life we are living. We can't 'jump' into another dimension to change who we are. This is the reality of what is.

much of Fate is predetermined, yet.. we have some choices. those are what I refer to.

Back around '95 I had a chance to speak with Michio Kaku at Columbia University, not in a class but a one on one discussion about his new book "Hyperspace" which he so graciously signed for me.

My problem was with the Event horizon and the Cauchy Horizon. If one was the end of space and time and the other the beginning, where time and space return to stable states then was it possible for a string theory, regardless of which one, to continue to exist through a black hole since the dimensions, given the equitable relation to gravity and non gravity, would literally know no bounds through space/time.
And would life there have it's own string theory which would interweave with our own. Are dreams a mesh of dimensional interloping?

There is so much yet unanswered that may remain that way.

I should have used the phrase... current thinking more often... but, there are happenstances I can think of... like what if I'd not the parents I have now?

Well, for proof's of what may have happened, I met a natural brother, who existence in the pool exemplified the current differences, between two people, who otherwise look and sound alike, bar the accent.

In other words. I had a very physical example, of what may be possible... in theory.

I like to give everyone a Volt or three so here goes.

My decisions have altered the lives of many, I hope they appreciated my philosophy.

what relevance that had to string theoory, alternate dimensions, or selves; or even dopplegangers, I know not... Hell, I was once a policeman ... as that link spoke of. I confused one old lady, accidentally spoilt a robbery and, saw Spiderman... yet, that link still confused even me.

The thread spoke of the "nodes" in life that changed or altered peoples direction.
With Power, the lives of many are altered, thus the parallel universes, that string theory suggests.
It may well take many such life altering nodes to amass in a slightly diffferent timeline before another...

Universe or reality has enough energy to earn it's wings.

Tho... I fear the point was lost a tad... you see, string theory, as I said earlier... is just a theory... but one... that for me, makes sense... and, maybe it's just my faith or belief, that I'm right that has me persisting in a seemingly futile search for answers... but, search I do.

I think about this quite frequently. There is a single person who if I never met, my life would be a lot better right now. Everything was on the perfect path until this person came into my life. Weird how much a single ripple can destroy so much.

It is an interesting question, are there othere dimensions, parallel worlds, where we exist in a different life?

I can't give you an answer to that one, and also science doens't have conclusive answers, but I am open for the idea. Still so many things to be discovered and answered.

It does raise a good question, that is, how would our life have been, if...

This is also a part of becoming concious of who we are and what are abilities we have.

Being able to see the different parts of our life and how it has brought us, to the present, is not only interesting, but necessary, as it gives us insight in the creature we are.

And yes, making decission alter our lifes, and as such a different one, can have great influence on our path, as such there maybe is a very different me, in another dimension.

always think of stepping stones of experience, some of them leading onto other paths...

Maybe thats what ghosts are. Just people from different realities coming through.

I would have been seriously a successful person. It is also said that a person has 7 lives to fulfill before reaching enlightenment/moksha.

With every decision we make, we influence the lives of others, consciously or unconsciously, thus changing thier lives forever, as well as our own lives.
