Is war a neccessary evil to protect you, your loved ones and your national interests, or will taking part in it blight your soul with a dark stain forever more?
War's a horrible thing but what a lot of people fail to realise is that war has benefited the human race as well. During war technological advancement is accelerated and things are discovered that benefit everyone. As well as this, at a basic level without war we'd still be scattered tribes, just family units wandering around aimlessly, we'd have nothing. War is the basis of civilisation.
canyou tell me somethig which was developed during war that is a benefit to the whole of mankind, apart from superglue?
I dont deny that technology is driven partly by war, but why could not advancement be driven by the need to protect ourselves from natural disasters, global warming and the like, are they not as dangerous to civilisation s an enemy at the gates?
I see nothing wrong with tribalism and in my opinion, disputes within the tribe can be settled better than in a federlised (?) system, but that said, if the tribes were all pacifists, could not nations develop from a mutual sense of responsibility and respect for one another, rather than a hatred of the differences...after all, and I cannot remeber, but a German philosipher once said, and this will not be exact, but....'war is the expression of political will, by other means'
so is war not the last resort of tyrants and dictators and pacifism the hope of the masses?
omg...spelling, spelling, spelling...spell checker please...
i think war is not the way out. yes, it coud teach people a leson, but still war is not the way out.
