Here is some research that I have done on succubi and incubi I thought I should share some.

: an imaginary demon assuming female form and formerly held to have sexual intercourse with men in their sleep
These demons were believed to come to men in there slumber seduce them then continue on to have sexual intercourse with them. While doing so they would draw energy from the male often during this they would leave the male either extremely exhausted or drain them to the point of death. After sleeping with the men that was made from intercourse were given to incubi. A succubi’s appearance would vary from culture but one common trait is all were very beautiful women that had bat like wings and sometimes horns and a tail * I know scary as hell*. Several goddesses throughout many religions have been suspected to be ones: Yukie ona, Lillith, Rusalka, Lillian, Belili
As result they would impregnate women it was rumored that the children that were birthed after this were easier to come under a demons influence. During the medieval period several women were tried for being *she devils* . Courts prosecutors thought these women were actually this supernatural beast. Some diseases today have been tied to this myth such as sleep paralysis and the occasional wet dreams *pause for snicker*. It wasn’t uncommon for brothels during the 16th century to have succubi statues out front. This myth has took affect on modern day society by influencing stories in video games, role playing games ,books and whatnot.
