Egyptian Lore states that Atum was spat out from the river of Nun. He sneezed out Shu and spat out Tefnut. Who's kids are Geb and Nut. Their kids are Osiris and Isis who were husband and wife and Nepthys and Seth who were husband and wife.

Isis became pregnant and shortly after Seth killed Osiris. Isis used magick to bring Osiris back. He was brought back to life but had to drink blood in order to live. So he fed on the mortals.

I did not give the full details of the whole lore. I am just explaining a brief post of how my God Osiris was called the Father of the Vampires. There was alot of cults and covens set up in his name. Some of which still exist.

If you have anything you can share about Osiris, Isis, or even the "9 Gods of the Heliopolitan" lores from Egypt please do.

okay does anyone have info on Osiris at all?

besides this...
Osiris is the God of the dead, but is much more famous for being the God of fertility and inundation. It was Osiris who gave the gift of barley to the ancient Egyptians, which to this day is one of their most important crops. Osiris is probably the most fatherly figure type of deity among the Egyptian gods. He considers everyone to be his child, and is willing to help those who ask of it like a father who is eager to spend time with his child. He is patient, kind, watchful, protective, and devoted to helping.Osiris was very popular among the ancient Egyptians, and anyone who has talked to Osiris is in any doubt why. Ask Osiris for help with anything. He is the counterpart of Isis, and is every bit as helpful, just with different things. Osiris is especially good to ask if you need to grow anything, be it crops or a baby. Osiris will make things grow where the best Gardner or doctor in the world could not. Even if you do not need anything of Osiris, talk to him nonetheless. Osiris loves attention and rewards those who take the time to pay attention to him (as do all the gods, but Osiris is especially watchful). Osiris is the husband of Isis, and father of Horus. He is brother to Seth and Nepthys. An excellent gift to Osiris is barley (make sure to cook it before putting it outside- uncooked barely and rice can be lethal to birds).

I think this thread may be closed or moved to the sandbox. However....

I've got one for you: Osiris is often equated with Christ of the Christian trinity, and is considered one of the prime examples of the archetype of the resurrected deity.

Virgo, Isis, mighty Mother
Scorpio, Apophis, Destroyer
Sol, Osiris, Slain and Risen

ARARITA

I love Egyptian mythology. ;-)

I do agree with you that the Christians stole the resurrection from the Egyptians as well as a few other such as the Virgin Birth in days of old the term meant that the father was either dead or the parents were not married much as we call a bastard child

Atum was the only God (Christians call him YHWH or Jehovah)

once he spat out and sneezed out his first children Shu and Tefnut they became the 3 part God (Father, Son and Holy Ghost in Christians)

also Osiris' Son Horus had four children of which became the pillars of heaven (four corners of earth to Christians)

You must be referring to some modernized version of the Osiris cult. Vampirism/blood drinking played no documented role in the ancient Egyptian Osirian myths, which are predominantly chthonic in nature. Osiris was a god of vegetation who presided over the forces of birth, death and regeneration which the Egyptians observed in the annual agricultural cycle. He ruled from his kingdom in the Underworld, and reanimated seeds (and mummies!) which were “planted” in the ground. The ancient Egyptians believed that Osiris had been an earthly king prior to his murder by Set and reanimation by Isis, Anubis, and Thoth,. One of his recorded acts was to forbid cannibalism (along with, one would logically assume, the blood ingestion that would inevitably accompany it.) This prohibition shows that, prior to the rise of Osirian beliefs, there had been bloodthirsty cults during the pre- and early dynastic periods. In his book “Human Sacrifice,” Egyptologist Jacques Kinnaer mentions evidence of such practices dating from the Naqada II Period and Petrie discovered mass human sacrifices in the tombs of 1’st and 2’nd Dynasty kings at Abydos, very similar to those found by Leonard Woolley at Ur. There is also some evidence for earlier cannibalistic practices in the Old Kingdom Pyramid Texts, especially in the famous “Cannibal Text” which depicts 5’th Dynasty king Unis devouring the gods in order to gain admission into the Afterlife. But by the 3’rd Dynasty, all such beliefs and practices had been discontinued. Old Kingdom royal funerary practices were dominated by the Heliopolitan cosmology of the sun god Re, and Osiris remained a relatively minor deity until after the First Intermediate Period when his cult became universalized. Where have you read that Osiris was vampiric? I’ve never seen that anywhere before.
To answer your other question, one tradition says that the “mother” of Shu and Tefnut was Atum’s hand! They were created by an act of cosmic masturbation. Can you imagine the nuns at Catholic trying to explain this myth to their history students!

My research always came up with the possibility of some of the older gods being wordly kings, as someone elsed mentioned, that come from another land. And there are glyphs that say that there where invaders in the pasts. At least two. The date, to some, works out the possibilty of Atlantis coming into the picture.
Osiris was found to be extremely experience in being a leader/ king. And what other kingoms were around before early Eygpt?

The healing skills of Isis are world known. But only through stories. The how to's are still a mystery, although sound/ song may be part of her tools. At one time it is said that all things can come into being through song. Hmmm.

There is also Ma'at and her "Universal Laws and Judgement." Where did this info come from in early Egypt? Hmmm again.

But I never heard of any vamps. Although the after life was on everyones mind 24/7. Maybe they were called by something else.

From a couple of articles I've uncovered, it was Seth, and not Osiris, that was the father of vampires.
