I would like to hear some opinions on The Law of Threefold Return.
Do you feel that is was just something created by elders to engage fear into the new and young members?
What are your interpretations behind it's meaning?
it may well have been, but since i have been researching wicca everything has stated the rule of thre, what you do comes back to you times three, and i believe thats in life in general, what you do comes back around, i have seen many bad people get whats coming to them, all on their own, you reap what you sow and such. just my opinion, but karma's a bitch, and i dont want any of it coming back. its all a matter of what you personally believe, some do, some dont
I'm not exactly sure what The Law of Threefold Return is.
I believe the things you do wrong in this world will come back to you later at LEAST 3 fold.
I've had a few friends that have had this happen to them already.
Three fold was invented not by elders of the 50 year old religion called wicca
It was from some notes a student made and found it’s way into American publishers n now part of the furniture in the last 20 years only
That’s a fact you can take straight to the bank
It means that, if you do something it will come back greater then you put into it.
You hurt someone it will comeback in some way a lot bigger then what you did.
You do something nice, something nice at a bigger scale will happen to you.
Though the rule of 3 can also mean it will come back at you in three was (well in a way).
Im sorry do you all think there is one rule for wiccans only ?
Wiccans are not special or different lol
Three fold doesn’t affect another path?
It has not ever been wrote n original teachings from the elders ….lol
I had to laugh with the advancement of this and three becomes hundred fold …. Lol
Ok im not going to say anymore …….
i dont beleve anyone said it was the one and only rule for wiccans, does it really matter when it came about? not really, its a good rule to live by, for anyone wiccan or not. it just makes you a decent person, to know that how you treat someone will come back to you one day. hhmm i think that is part of some other religions as well, do unto others as you would have done unto you? golden rule and all that. it all ties together no matter what your beliefs are unless you think its ok to harm others for your own selfish reasons. and no i am not saying that is what any of you do.
I believe that it's the price of using the natures power like the old saying "you can't get something for nothing"
Why would you have a law that operates out side logic?
Energy is stable it changes form only but keeps said energy….. why would there be amplification?
Control and fear is all I see……..
I am not a Wiccan and I believe in the Three fold law.
If you do something bad to someone or something with magic, spells, or nothing at all, It is gonna come back and eventually bite you in the arse.
I am not a wiccan but I do like the wiccan rede.
I have always believed in Karma, that if you harm someone it comes back onto you three times hard than sent out. Same with doing a good deed it gets returned to you when you need it.
My grandmother explained it to me when I was a child. She told me that ever action we perform, every thought we send out acts like a ripple and as energy flows out of us and affects not just those around us but everyone it touches. At some point it stops and returns to you like a tidal wave.
Maybe it is something to instil fear, but as a moral or ethic to live by I can think of nothing better to help you become a better, optimistic and positive person. To look at your fellow man with love and compassion because at some point it will be returned to you. You hate someone it comes back to you, its a universal law, who made it, who knows the gods perhaps, but it matters not to me whether its just universal law, karmic obligation or a 3 fold law, its not something to laugh at, it is someones moral or ethical code to live by!
The three fold law is Karma that comes back in to you when you do ill to another person. I believe it will effect you in mind body and spirit. I am Wiccan and it is no different then the saying what goes around comes around.
I agree with LadyWinterRogue.
My interpretation of the Three-Fold Law is that it is a form of Karma. Having negative thoughts about or towards another person doesn't REALLY get you anywhere, except perhaps a few minutes of feeling better about yourself.
I try to avoid those kinds of thoughts because I know that I don't need the negative energy that is generated

I see why you are nipping the bud on the wicca conversation, the last one went completely nowhere.
However, we all know investment works... it takes money to make money, etc. It is a natural law. Hoding money makes it decrease as well, you have to move things arround, share it for it to prosper.
Also it occurs to me that you do not truely OWN something unless you share it. You do not have prosperity unless you can bestow it apon others, the same is true for love, happyness, and knowledge. I bring it up because I think it is part of the same law as the LAW OF INVESTMENT.
I believe in the Law of Cause & Effect, that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. To me, any negative deed will return, at the same force, as the original deed. The same goes for every *positive* deed. This isn't to say that outside forces can't send more energy, positive or negative, to me as a result of my deed; these outside forces are not a direct result of said deed, however, and I would count them as a side effect, even if it eventually doubled, tripled, etc. the original energy.
Think about all of the folks out there literally and figuratively getting away with murder. Do you see them getting a major karmic smack-down as a result of receiving triple the negative action they sent out? Or those doing great good in the world getting a triple return on such investments?
Of course, this is just my opinion on the matter.
We still have two "Law" threads about this still open. Please feel free to post in them.
