Is the intent to energy necessary, or can one or a group channel energy if the situation is right. For example, a football team goes through a series of actions, intent on an outcome, with specific items and actions. They have specific goals in mind and are focused on them. They have practiced, they have focused, they have expended mental, emotional and physical energy. They will themselves physically and mentally to perform. The quarterback calls the plays and the whole team is focused on the outcome and their part in it. Thay take synchronized action They are directed by the coach. The fans will them to succeeed. The only thing keeping them from achieving their intent is the defence, performing similar thoughts and focusing against them.

Does the team manage energy and manipulate it? Can fans send energy to the team? Does the team with the greatest level of fan energy win? Are you actually working energy without thinking about it in your everyday life?

What do you think?

Are the momentum swings during the game due to energy transfer? Is it a transfer of energy from the fans to the team? Is it a battle of energy between the teams or is it just physical?

I am certain that the fan energy or lack affects the teams performance. The team in a fashion sets up a sacred space in the stadium or arena to capture the gathered energy and thus the home advantage as that is the home teams sacred space. Sports can be considered a religion with as much energy and fervor as true religions. I see lots of possibilities for this thread. :)

Temp, Now that is a thought. Is the home team advantage due to the channeling of energy by the people in the stands. Can remote fans channel energy over a distance to overcome the home team advantage?

I think when you are doing anything with a home field advantage the energy is always better. Just because you are comfortable doing whatever it is you are doing, like playing pool, football or anything. The more you are comfortable with a certian place the better.

Thats just me I guess.

I would say remote channeling is possible because energy can be channeled for healing through phones and computers. British witches during WW II gathered all over the country to collect and send energy out in war efforts.

So darkseleeene, you are saying that being familiar with surrounding increases ones ability to focus energy or that we perform better because the surroundings are familiar.

I believe it boosts one performance to have a positive outlook and a positive vibe would really just lend to motivation. I don't believe it to be energy manipulation, though.

WarriorInhell, the question is: is it channeling energy as we discuss here on VR. or is it something different. Do you have to know how to channel energy or does it come naturally at time such as games.

I can see where you are going with this. Another example of this kind of energy use would be that of church goers. The group prayer type of surrounding. This energy is manipulated out of faith and the cause of that faith. Even though the energy is asked for from a deity, the flow of said energy is from that group. Like that of static so to speak.

Soulshroude, that is a great example. If one would read the member articles here on energy, would one come to the conclusion that the energy spoken of in the articles is the same energy as the group of church goers, or the fans at the stadium, or the team team itself.

Can we then state that the result of the prayer, or the team's effort is due to the energy itself?

From both actually, the energy was there from the beginning, the group merely showed the path for the energy to flow. Energy is always energy ready for which ever purpose is nessessary. It is just dormant until it is called upon. From either the individual or group. Though it is still in speculation as to which is stronger; The individual, or the group.

Well, the implide confusion of energy may be applied, but I am sure that after said energy is fluxed in the intended direction...Other energies surrounding it would not bother it. Much like drops of rain in a storm.

Oh, what a cool idea. :) It had never before occurred to me to think of energy manipulation in relation to sports events.

Like with any sort of energy manipulation (even when the manipulator is unaware of what s/he is doing, as in the case of prayer to a deity), I think it has to do with intent. Actions are a form of intent -- you're intending to do something (winning a game) -- you've poured energy toward that goal by practicing, visualizing victory, wanting a certain result -- all of that, in my opinion, contributes to the overall outcome. Add to that the thoughts of the fans (and some fans will pray that their team wins), and you have an energy coctail coming from both teams and their supporters. Who wins? Well, those with the stronger cocktail, of course...provided that more mundane things aren't seriously skewed -- I mean, you couldn't seriously expect a team of little-leaguers to beat the NY Giants. ;)

The home team would have an advantage too; not only are they on a sort of sacred space and familiar territory, but there are probably more fans there; and energy manipulation over a short distance is so much easier than long-distance -- or such has been my experience.

Great thread....

I think who ever has the stronger will and intent would sway the outcome of a game. Many wouldn't be sitting their focusing their will and applying it to their energy to sway the outcome of the game. If the whole team understood the concept of the use of manifestation or will and intent they may find the outcome swing their way more often.

You will also have to take into factors such as players who are not whole-heartedly in the game. They would be the weak link in the chain so to speak...

I will stop dribbling now lol.

Energy is. We are. It's the most natural thing in the world.

The team that will win, will be the team with the largest number of players who are quick thinking and physically fitter.

Psychic vampirism- normal human interaction?

These days, people speak of things I would consider natural as supernatural. They speak of the normal as paranormal.

I think energy is natural and normal. To me, there is nothing about psychic vampirism that is not just the way things are in human interaction. I try hard not to offend people who believe otherwise, but it has just never convinced me. I have even thought at one time that I believed, to the point in questioning my own being. I spoke to Michelle Belanger, I read her books... I questioned... it came back to the natural and normal for me, and what I see in all people.

I wonder if there is anyone that can convince me otherwise. I do not want to argue, I'd like to finally hear something different. I'd like an insight as to why a psychic vampire is different than a human doing what humans do.

There are a couple people in House Eternal I respect greatly as people, but still don't hold the same point of view on this topic. I am hoping we can tactfully converse about it.

I have to admit, I'm not entirely convinced, either. We humans are, for the most part, social creatures, and when we are alone we tend to feel "drained" or depressed...and when we are in a large group, we can tend to feel energized and happy.

But to play devil's advocate a bit here, what I think characterizes a psionic "vampire" (quotes are not meant to offend; they are there to make the distinction between fiction and reality; ask any psionic "vampire" and they will tell you they are human and using the term "vampire" can be a misnomer) from an otherwise normal human being is the severity of symptoms. How drained does one feel without the presence of chi? How energized does one feel with it?

Some psionics also claim what can be considered supernatural abilities; energy manipulation (doi :), telekinesis, things of that nature.

This still is not something that entirely convinces me either, however, as there are people who do not claim vampirism but still claim to have certain abilities.

I'm looking forward to responses from those who are within the psionic community. :)

I agree with you Lagniappe.

For the past few months I've been trying to understand the subject more.

In fact that is what drew me to the Coven I am in now, there is so much information on energy there.

I now think that the only 'real' difference between people who call themselves psi vampires and the rest of the population is that one group work with energy on a conscious level and the other on an uconscious level.

I have learnt being in a room full of people meditationing brings the meditation to a higher level. I also learn that you do not have to be a psy-vampire to drain one's energy. I have had people drain my energy because of their negativity. I have also been in a circle with many Wiccans and the energy was so high...for everyone was rasing their wonderful energy level. I myself, think it is the person whom you are around. I myself try and block people's negativity, so it will not effect my positive energy. Which at times it is not always as easy as said.

For one, the team does not manipulate energy, they work on manifesting their desire. There's a difference. The crowd does produce energy, we all do, we're literally batteries. But unless the team is doing a psychic feed, that energy is going to waste. As for directing your energy toward them, try this on horse racing, it doesn't work. Little league players all have their families rooting for them but its the best team that wins. Not the "come on Johnny."
