OK I have done a search in the old forum posts. The only thing that I am coming up with that deals directly with Reiki is a year old and doesn't have what I am looking for.
When dealing with Reiki is it possible to use the Reiki methods in a long distance manner? I have something that I need to look into concerning my neice. Reiki is the closet thing that I can think of that might would help.
Any information is gratly appreciated.
Please, See my journal post and it will explain the reason why I am asking.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life.
Its use is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.
While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others. Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.
Thank you for the web site. Bleedingforyou, what I am honestly looking for is a way to do long distance healing. I was thinking that Reiki might be of help but I am not certain because I do not kow much about Reiki. Oh and thank you for the information that you posted as well.
A friend of mine is a Master rekki Healer, he has stated that he has sent healing energy to someone on the internet for her illnesses that really worked.
A Rekki Healer is only the conductor of a high power. As many of us learn to send healing energy to others far away through meditation.
This man whom I speak of is in his 60's, so based on his universal healing methods also...yes I do believe one can.
i have to agree with above...
my aunt is a reiki master, and of course the most effective way to use it is if you are physically with that person, but through meditation & visualization one can heal from afar...
That is something that I was wondering about. I do my meditations daily andlight my healing candles and such but I completely forgot about using the meditation to send energies. Thanks for the reminder.
I have heard of someone doing reiki over a photo...I guess that would help with the whole visualization thing!
That is something that I was wondering about Muli. I was uncertainif it could be done or not. I have heard of so many things when it comes to healing at a distance and thought that I could benefit from the answers of the VR members. Which is working so far.
I had an ex who was into Reiki And She Told Me It Is Better To Be There.
I Never Asked About Long Distance.
Thanks everyone for your response to the thread. I am going to close it now to help keep the forum cleaned up.
