I know many of you guy's are very knowlegeable(i need a speel check) when it comes to what dreams are supposed to mean. But I've got a guestion that I can't find and maybe one of you fellow members know. Okay I was talking with my ex, and she says that once we brock up she can no longer remember her dreams. And she's even going to counciling for it! I casted no spells, although I was very upset at the moment. but anywho has anyone heard of such a thing happening?
Hi, It sounds to me that your ex, may be suffering from a strain of post tramatic stress. Anything that has a big impact on a persons life can cause alot of strange and often undesirable changes. The fact that she can no longer remember her dreams, and this will be a short term event 1-6 months, may be a way of trying to forget the past and in doing so is having a impact on her brain to cause such effects. The human body reacts in many different ways. Dremas can not be prevented and depending on the person, some people rarely remember their dreams anyhow. Hope this is of help to you. I'm sure everything will be fine.
D
i agree. even though it has nothing to do with the subject at hand when i was 16 i really don't remember anything a couple mounths after and anything before me getting hit with a car i was in such shock that my mind pretty much shut down and did a massive erase i really don't remember anything before getting hit with the car
there are four stages to sleep which repeat constantly...
1. is REm sleep which includes rapid eye movement, muscle paralysis, increased heart rate and blood pressure, this is when we dream.
2. is NREM, this is light sleep, no rapid eyemovement, and the body is preparing for deep sleep.
3 & 4 both are REM, which involve periods of deep sleep, the body tempertaure drops and the entire body is relaxed.
This cycle repeats through out the night. And ppl will go through the REM stage 4-7 times, and can have to 10 dreams in one night.
Ur ex, might not remember dreams due to a change in sleeping pattern. Ppl who wake up straight after REM sleep will remember dreams ppl who wake up in different stages will not. 5 minutes after a dream has finished 50% of it is forgotten, after 10 minutes 90% is forgotten. so if your ex is dreamimg then wakes up during a light sleep period in stages 3 or 4, then she will nto remember dreams.
I will not say that this is a symptom of post truamatic stress. PTSD only occurs in people who have experienced a truly traumatic event. for example a horrific car accident, or rape etc. A break up would not put so much stress on the body to cause PTSD. PTSD cuases actual sleeping disprders, nightmares which are remembered, flash backs and sometimes depression.
When i'm stressed or worried about soemthing (like an exam) my sleeping pattern changes. It is most likely that the break up was stressful for ur ex, which has cuased a change in her sleeping pattern.
i somehow keep having my messages right after you weird,
ummm yes anyway
doesn't really mean much of anything, i tottally think the preivous post makes sense, i remember dreams here and there, sometimes it happens alot , sometimes it stops for months when nothing unusal happened, i doubt it is anything of concern
I nver remember dreams...doesn't mean I don't have them....just means I dont remember them...might be the same thing
