Thought to post a thread in regards to an article I came across in pertain to a condition of Synaesthesia, or dominate functioning from the right side of the brain. In total, it’s the culmination of memories/notions/untouchable themes (headed off by any or all senses) that becomes a definition, always locked together as an association (which becomes the object itself in question). This isn’t rare in most train of thoughts, but in this case the reaction to a “launch pad,” which can be absolutely anything perceived, is overpowering and recognizable as these alternate ideas that get looped into another.
It becomes more tangible when you bring language into the link of things. For example (taken from the article): “...the almost universal agreement, amongst those who bear this ability, is that "O" has a brown texture and "I" has a whitish hue.”
It’s known there is a portion of the human brain which acts like a system operator for all of the incoming 5 senses and that some information moves quietly through (as though dialing the wrong number per say) thus reason why some people who "see" the color red when they hear an E minor chord, or "see" the color yellow when the smell the scent of apple pie being baked.
I feel it’s started by visual learning aids we’re given when our brain is still being “wired” up. This mindset could be fueled by this simplistic way of taking on the world (everything coming together in sensations and immediate direction), a way of memorizing that slowly expands by habit and groundwork into heightened conditions of everything around us.
The article is bellow for further thought as to what I am referring to; however in short I am curious if anyone has similar patterns.

And the smell of Vanilla makes your hands feel like they're running through fur.
Howsat?
hehehe
For a more interesting way to look at this, read Jasons Journal post on "It tastes like 'PURPLE.'"
Hehehee..
Thank you Khayman I shall...
For myself when I hear "soft" I see the color pink and when I hear the color "Fuchsia" I always thought of a shrub, long before comming to know that Fucshia is an ornamental shrub...how our mind operates.
Hehehehe...
Sour Patch kids are fun to watch her eat.
BRIGHT COLORS!! BRIGHT COLORS!!!
hehhee
now I have to stock up on sour patch kids for the end of the month......hehhee
I thought for sure, by now, in a site with over 1,300 people others who have experienced synesthesia would have posted something.
Ah, well.
Here is an excellent article in layman's terms regarding synaesthesia.
when i think of the color red, i see Legos in my head. A big castle made of Legos.
god, im so weird.
ball pit? hmm..
that must be a term im not familiar with. That is probably a good thing
This is a really interesting topic, and one which I can totally relate too. When I am learning scripts for plays Im in, I always see and feel things for different words, its hard to explain precisely what I mean, but it really helps me.
I don't think I have Synaesthesia, but maybe textile touch. When I'm in the fabric store I touch everything. But if I touch something like cordarroy, it feels like itches or abrasions or somthing going up my arm. It'll stay there for a few minutes. Egg cartons are horrible, I try to avoid it if possible. That's why I like to sew velvets, satins and silks.
May not be the same, but had to add my two cents.
*bump*
One last try to see if anyone else has now or ever had synaesthetic experiences.
