... someone said that only the foolish profess to know everything.. so why is it that as I trawl the forum, there are those whose knowledge seems almost Encyclopedic? Me? I know I know nothing.. ergo, one day I might know something.
But, a question, "why is it that as I trawl the forum, there are those whose knowledge seems almost Encyclopedic? "
Me?? I think their veiled ignorance shines through like a beacon. Anyone any idea's for me??
Veiled ignorance. Most people, understand, can only spew out what they've heard others say or read on another web board. It takes a thinker to actually put concepts together for themselves and to forge their own line of thinking.
I think that most people do this unintentionally out of desire to seem knowledgeable or important. Most of what is said here is simply restated fact from another thread, only said by someone different. To understand any concept is to apply them in your own way and from there to forge one's own meaning followed by the level to which said concepts apply to one's path.
Just to add on to the previous thoughts, I think that most of the veiled ignorance also comes in levels according to a variety of social strata.
Some have done their homework to read/study what they share about in the given topics and measure with their own scale in regards the "veracity" of convictions, that doesn't mean is valid or true, but it brings something to debate or ponder- in the subjects. I believe you are making a judgement by stating the commentary above.
