In the earliest societies that revered the Moon as the Goddess, the third dark phase was personified as the Dark Goddess---wise, mysterious, and compassionate. The story of the Dark Goddess begins thousands of years ago in a time before recorded history, when the Moon was worshiped as a primary feminine divinity. The Dark Moon Goddess was loved and honored, and they accepted Her wisdom and Her mystery teachings of the dark. In her wisdom, which arises from experience, she encompasses the season of Winter and the underworld. Grounded in Her inner strength, the Dark Moon Goddess is filled with compassion and understanding. The Crone is the Sorrowing Mother who dispenses justice with both love and sadness.
The Crone knows the laws must be upheld, but this does not keep Her from feeling sorrow when the verdict appears harsh to us. Injustice and imbalance, whatever forms, are detested by Her. We may not understand or see the balancing of life’s scales, but the Crone never rests until those scales are balanced.
There are several Dark Goddesses that come to mind. But the one that always comes first to mind to me is , Cerridwen (also called Caridwen) She is a Welsh Crone Goddess. She is known as a Goddess of the Moon, and is also Goddess of death, fertility, regeneration, grain, nature, dark prophesies, and knowledge.

So my question is what Dark Goddess does any one else work with ?
Lilith is one...
In ancient Sumeria she was regarded as the "left hand" of the Great Goddess Inanna. She assisted her by bringing the men to the goddess' temples, to worship her by participating in "Tantric" rites with the temple-women. As a result of this role, Lilith became known as seducer of men and as harlot.
Kali is very well known...
It has been said that Kali is "the divine Shakti representing both the creative and destructive aspects of nature", and as such she is a goddess who both gives life and brings death. Clothed only with the veil of space, her blue-black nakedness symbolizes the eternal night of non-existence, a night that is free of any illusion and distinction. Kali as such is pure and primary reality, the enfolded order, formless void yet full of potential.
Not exactly work with but I associate most strongly with Kali. I would say Dhurga but I'm not entirely sure she's associated with being a goddess of dark aspects as Kali primarily is...
Baba Yaga is another popular dark goddess of lore as well as Mother Holle, Hecate and Nemesis.
I've never associated my self with an divisions of the goddess like this just withthe differant aspectes of her in general not dealing with the dark goddess
I think it would be what form of magik you are practicing for which goddess you are willing to call upon. Or which "religion" so to speak. But keep in mind that many of the "dark" goddess's are the same, just under differant surenames for differant cultures.
Well, im going to start my tirade here with the comments that First my Lady was Nox, she who was the mistress of the Temple of the night, and nocturnal magicks, She who kept the lunar powers under her dominion.
When I was living with a dear friend of mine who worshiped the Greek pantheons, Themis found me. I am hers.
She is the mother of the fates, the only diety to be called Gaia, a Titan, hers are Prophecy, birth, sacrifice, joy, wise council, natural law. All the elements are hers.
She is depected with a sword, and scales, or cornicopia. Only the Romans Blinded her, but her eyes see both physically and in the future.
She is the one, who my sword falls in service of, and my rituals are crafted for, by the nature that our paths are connected on goals we would achieve.
She is also Inanna, Tiamat, Cerridwen, and a host of other names, but her current is oldest, before there was the source which was Atum, hers were the primal waters if you will, the prima materia.
I worship Aradia, she was the goddess born from Dianna and Lucifer *not the Christian devil but a underground god* I am still learning about her, so I'm not sure if she is a dark goddess being born from Dianna.
Hopefully this info helps just a bit, no definition as to what the dark goddess is, but as a who.
DarkGoddess
I follow the path of Nyx. She has blessed me and at this point I don't think I'd follow anyone else. :)
