okay ladies I need your help... I am trying to purchase my order for the cruise and falling short on remember tip[s from the fashion show... now what were they
if you order from a European company get two sizes bigger?
If its an American company you shave off some inches?
Help
Ack..
American companies, it depends on the manufacturer. Be sure to read the FAQ or sizing information. Generally the sizing is based on waist measurement. Most companies will ask you to order 4"-6" smaller than your actual waist, again, be sure to refer to the sizing charts. In my experience, I have had to order 6" smaller; the 4" smaller certainly took in at the waist, but flopped around the top and bottom edges (= not small enough). Order far enough in advance if you need to exchange for a different size, and be sure to read and understand those policies.
I would not recommend any "corsets" that base their measurements on bust measurement. Those are bustiers, and will not do much of anything to whittle the waist like many of us would like them to do.
For European sizing, UK sizing specifically, order 2 sizes larger to match your current size. For instance, a UK 12 is about the same as a US 6/8. When in doubt, consult the sizing FAQ, pull out a tape measure with Metric, and go from there.
Hope this helps!

I might point you to Jen, who at her impressive 6' height is one of our corset addicts.
Annisse knows a thing or two about fashion. Maybe one of them can point you in the right direction.
Hello Jen here!
As Skully said I am a BIG corset addict. Here are some places I like to shop:
Starkers.com
Versatilecorsets.com
Nightshadecorsets.com
When you order a corset, you order 4 inches smaller than the smallest part of your waist. But don't try to lace all 4 inches off at once or you will be in much pain. Get your corset now and corset train by taking an inch off at a time and wearing it around.
Also, if you are wearing it without something underneath make sure it has a modesty panel, or you will pinch your skin in the laces.
Hope this helps. Happy corset shopping!!!
