Okay.. this has to be addressed.. ive had alot of emails already about it.
I WAS going to do another cruise in 2008... HOWEVER - Because this cruise is just so damn big.. i've decided to do the next cruise in 2009. This will give a larger group of people more time to prepare and plan that cannot make this one.
It will still be 18 and older only for the events. Havent decided on the date, itinerary, or band yet.
Quite frankly.. the bigger this cruise gets.. the bigger the bands are that email me about it.
However, I have decided that anyone putting down a 50.00 per person deposit for the next cruise - while ONBOARD the 2007 Cruise, will receive 100.00 off per person.
Well I know there is nothing formal for the Club Med thing has been said do you think thats going to be in 2008? I gotta have a 2008 vacation...
Oh well...I guess we'll have to find another cruise for 2008! I better start my research now! It would have been so much easier if there were a 2008 Goth cruise but C'est la vie!
KCRC - I can put together a goth cruise for 2008 - but it wont have a band.
Club Med... this will definetely be in 2008. All inclusive, from the wave runners to the rum. Full open bar. We will be blocking out the entire resort.
Well either Club Med or an Alaskan cruise would be cool.
Well, I have not found alot of Goths interested in Alaska actualy. Though I personaly love it.
Alaska is very expensive. If I put together an Alaskan Gothic Cruise.. It would have a Masquerade Ball.. and gothic events.. but nothing like the current.
I couldnt put a band onboard either.. unless everyone wanted to mortage their kidneys for a ticket?
If we can get say.. 20 couples/roommates, that want to go.. I will put one together for 2008.
Alaska is seasonal.. Cruises run from May to Sept of each year.
I would have to say that while an Alaska Goth cruise does sound like fun, we would not be able to swing that in 2008. We are planning to do an Alskan cruise in spring / summer 2009 for our younger daughter's graduation. So twice in two years for Alsaka would be out of our price range, considering we will also be doing a family cruise in 2008 for our older daughters graduation (likely Caribbean).
I would go on the next one also. It would probably be a better choice in the Mediterainian or somewhere in Europe in stead of Alaska though. Then we could do excursions seeing Castles and stuff. Leaving from Florida and going anywhere would be the easiest for everyone in the States though. Peace
ack! KCRC! Why are you not booking these with All Genre?
I have quite a few things on the block.. and will be updated to the All Genre Travel website as they become available. For regular nonmusical/nongothic travel - our other site is www.genretravel.com
For All Genre, I am currently in negotiations with some top bands for the next gothic cruise and the club med event.
Also on the block are a catacombs of europe tour, Transylvannia Tour (yes... including dracs castle.. but beyond into Carpathia as well), a haunted castles tour of europe, and of course.. Pompeii.
I am also currently planning a few tours of Europe, that would include trips to about 12 different gothic clubs and sites across the European Continent. When I say sites, I mean clothing designers, boutiques.. posh coffee houses, huanted castles, vampire sighting places, legends/lore, and of course.. cemetaries.
More to come as well..
AHH Z.
I like to do my own research on Line, itinerary, dates, etc...
Then I will be in touch!

Oh, Man Just book us for every up coming event of yours my dear...LOL
Damn, now I need a third job to pay for all these trips. LOL
Transylvannia and catacombs sound good. Castles are always fun. :)
Egypt would be fun too if we could get into some sites and not just look at them from the outside.
Egypt is being worked on. There is one of some catacombs.. were you have to crawl on your stomach to get through a portion.. did i mention you are crawling on bones?
COOL! Sounds like a fun time. LOL Bones & Mummys & Liquor. LOL
oooooh. Egypt is one of my little holy places I wanna see!
@allgenre,
Any ideas for bands for 2009? Here's my favorites:
1) Wumpscut (or Noisex)--hey, I can always hope, right? I'll definitely be on board if you can convince Wumpscut to play.
2) Death in June w/ Boyd Rice--should be very easy from a technical standpoint (mostly acoustic). And then maybe we could convince either Douglas P. or Boyd to play extra shows in one of the cocktail lounges?
3) Foetus
4) Electric Hellfire Club
4) She Wants Revenge
5) Voltaire
6) Weird Al Yankovic
Anyway, those are just some ideas. Whoever you get in 2009, I'm sure it will be awesome. Thanks!
Yeah, Weird Al is a bit of a stretch. I've seen him a couple times, though, and he's quite the entertainer. Most of his songs are based on 80s songs that everyone in "the scene" is probably familiar with. Some of his original songs are on the "dark" side, didn't one of his polkas use NIN's "Closer?
Anyway, that's obviously not my first choice. But I think it'd be fun and most people on board would get a kick out of it. Same with Voltaire. Most of his music isn't really all that "gothic", it's just catchy and the lyrics happen to revolve mostly around this scene.
I would think Electric Hellfire Club would be all over something like this. I think Thomas Thorn lives in Miami now (he's in Florida, anyway). If there's any band that would make good use of the "all you can drink" cocktail parties, my money is on EHC!
I have a ALOT of rules I have to follow when deciding which band to hire for the cruises. You have to remember, that the theatres on these ships cost LITERALY millions of dollars.
Any band that is known for being destructive on stage, or inciting their fans to mosh or be just as destructive, during their performances - are just not an option for the goth cruise.
The ability to have further gothic cruises on any cruise line, comes directly from my references with other cruise lines from previous goth cruises. So each event and each band is carefully planned.. PAINstakingly planned to make sure that each cruise will be a good reference for the next cruise. The cruise lines do go to other cruise lines and check out these references. (Hence no Rammstein, who I was told by a promoter will NOT perform any concert without his pyrotechnics).
For VNV Nation, for instance, we communicated in emails for quite a few months in 2005, plus I attended his concert in Tampa, and reviewed a few live concert videos, all before we went to contract.
I can tell you, that the 2009 Annual Gothic Cruise and Masquerade Ball, will be just as great as this one or better.
As a side note.. I may be changing the name from Annul to Semi-Annual. It takes me two years to plan each cruise. And each cruise gets bigger, and bigger, and bigger. Because of VNV Nation however, the 2007 cruise has drawn alot of international media attention, and the 2009 cruise will most likely be 4 or 5 times its size in attendence. Note I said 4 or 5 times, not just bigger. That means each cruise thereafter will be bigger as well. Also, more people tend to book when they have more time to pay off their cruise over a period of 16 months or more. So 1 of two things are going to happen. Either the cruise will take place every other year OR.. I will have bands only on every other cruise - which will seriously drive down the cruise price of cruises without a band. For example, the 2007 cruise has a band, the 2008 wont, the 2009 will, the 2010 wont... etc. Gothic Cruises without bands will also take place over summer - which means more people can attend, Like Cancer, as the colleges will be out for summer break.
We still have the Club Med event in Oct 2008.. Ill be sending word out on that soon. The Club Med event should have about 4 or 5 bands blasting our eardrums to smithereens.
So *Makes like Barbara Walters* thats the current news from All Genre.
:)
@allgenre
Thanks for the behind-the-scenes info! Interesting stuff. I can only imagine the complexity in trying to book the right band (and I can see how Electric Hellfire Club probably isn't the ideal choice, from that point of view) :)
WolfSheim PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE try and book them for some thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As most know, I met with many of Carnival's Staff and Crew on the 5/19/2007 sailing of the Glory (which we are sailing on for 10/6/07).
Listen very carefully:
The 2008 Cruise will be ALL INCLUSIVE on the beverages.
The price of the 2008 cruise will go up a bit.. however OPEN BAR FOR YOUR ENTIRE CRUISE!
This means all your Alcohol: Well Drinks, Premium Liquors (INCLUDING RUM), Most wines, house champagnes, ALL soft drinks, and speciality coffee's (like espresso's), and bottled water.
I sat down while on the ship and did the math. If you drink 8 drinks or more of ANY of the above per day. You have made your money back.
Well and Premium are included.. but not TOP Shelf. another words no.. you cannot have a $5,000 bottle of Dom Perrigon.
BUT - you can have a QUAD SHOT of Jack with a splash of coke - as many times as you want. Drink two of these a day each day.. and you have paid for the upcharge.
Canadian Club wouldn't be top shelf right (Its not considered even close in Canada but its hard to find elsewhere and possibly considered differently)
It sounds good being all inclusive I'll make them regret that decision... :) Where are you thinking of sailing this time?
the intinerary and ship, and sailing date, will be released as soon as I finish signing the bands. (Im waiting on just 1, who is on tour right now - so printing and mailing me the contract is hard).
Can you say who has signed on so far?Since they've signed and thats a done deal.
unfortunately no. im releasing all the information at the same time.
