Hi,
Just wondering if anyone's figured out what to do in Roatan. I'm considering this tour company, Victor Bodden. On the internet he's at www.boddentours.com. You're basically hiring a private driver/guide for the whole day and they do whatever you want.
If you have 4 people or more it only costs $25 per person. Realistically, though, after you purchase lunch and drinks and go see various things it probably gets up to at least $60-70 per person. The iguana farm, for example, is $5 per person. The ziplining is $45 per person additional.
From the site:
'The "Best of Roatan" Tour -- Look over the photos on our site, read previous guests' reviews and let us know your interests! Snorkeling from the beach, Zip Lines, the Iguana Farm, the Cameo Factory, Shopping, Monkeys...just let us know what you'd like to see! We'll do our best to fit as much (or as little!) into your visit to Roatan as possible. We call it the "Best of Roatan" because you tell us what is the "best" tour for you!'
Hmm, well I had typed up a lot of different ideas for Roatan, but then it disappeared into cyberspace. Oh well, one thing that does sound really interesting, though, is the cameo factory. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=453108&highlight=cameo

These are real and authentic cameos, all handmade. They seem fairly expensive, but it sounds like this is the only place in all of the Americas that makes them. Not commercialized Diamonds International crap that you can get in any Caribbean port (now even Alaska). I'm not a jewelry guy, but this sounds really unique and interesting.
The only 2 tour companies this travel agent recomends is Carnival and Shoretrips. If you book with a different tour company for shore excursions, you do so at your own risk.
