So many changes and such a short time. I remember when you used to run through the house in just your cowboy boots and hat...or wearing nothing at all.
We laughed, fought, cried, and we hated each other way too many times. You were there for me -threatening those who wanted to harm me...and a shoulder to lean on if I ever needed it. you held my hand at grandpa's funeral...and hugged me before you left the first time telling me you loved me and to make sure to take care of mom and dad.
You came home safe...different but safe to us is all that matters. You lost friends...and our hearts go out to their families...but you came home to us. (selfish of me I know)
And now you are going again. You hugged me a few minutes ago and my heart flipped. You told me you loved me and all I could do was hold on tighter.
My heart is with you...my thoughts and prayers will be with you daily. Little brother- it's just a year hopefully then you will be back. Good luck in Iraq.
