I have military fear. I obey unwillingly, sweating, and tongue tied and radiating unconscious hostility in the presence of the VR officers. No wonder they cannot help despising me, because I despise myself. If I could just accept the moral authority of Sires to trade me or blind me at their whim, or the virtue of the Dominars to edit my posts and remove my adjectives (something I feel akin to having my knackers lopped off), or to accept the terrible loss of face of suspension by adminstrators, I'd find pride and self-respect and relations would be easy and pleasant. It seems to be easy and pleasant for all in VR except me.

I wish they would stop trying: Jason did not break my gutter spririt, nor Deity nor Daire nor Cancer nor Toiletduc nor Stabb. Suspension did not bring me back with new esprit. Dominars, robbing my words, did not make my thoughts any less brutish.

And my thoughts are of the great Ulysses S. Grant, “The shot-gun was not resorted to. Masked men did not ride over the country at night intimidating voters; but there was a firm feeling that a class existed in every State with a sort of divine right to control public affairs. If they could not get this control by one means they must by another.—Ulysses S. Grant, Personal Memoirs
