Barrack Obama who said during his campaign for the presidency that he will take a backseat to no one on the issue of net neutrality. To take things further, he also called Internet a right of the people recently after the Mubarak regime shut off all Internet within Egypt to prevent protesters from relaying what is going on to the outside world. (Mubarak was unsuccessful) because people in the U.S were actually calling land lines within Egypt to interview them and post twitter and online updates for them.



When we lose our internet following some emergency, will outside countries do the same for us?



Barrack Obama signed Lieberman's strangely Mubarak-ish bill to shut off all internet in case of an emergency.

This bill is completely contradictory and contray to all that our president has said before. Proving that while U.S politicians claim that they are for democracy, they are really frightened that something similar to Egyptian demonstrations would occur here.



The U.S suffers from mass poverty while the wealthy corporate and government elite line their pockets with gold and the latest polls within U.S universities show that very few college students are confident about their future.



It was young people who started the revolt in Egypt. Is the U.S setting itself up for a similar scenario in the near the future?
