I was enjoying reading the forums of several of our alliance members and happened to run across one in which a couple of members seemed to have real problems with police officers. Seems they've had a couple of run-in's and believe the police need tighter rules and oversight placed on them.
At this point I had to back slowly away from the post button to keep my opinion safely here in my journal. No one is a reader of this journal so it's safe for me to spill my guts...
See I spent 25 years working for and with the state police in a rural area of SE Kentucky. No big cities but a very large area with a few hundred thousand folks spread out across it. But since we sit along a major N=S conduit I75 and have a couple of different railways and several hundred miles of track. I saw many many types of situations where the police had to face numbers greater than themsleves and enter dangerous situations to help others. To read where people that never put themselves at risk are placing themselves as judge and jury over police officers based on news reports which are almost always slanted which ever way will be the biggest sensation pro or con, the truth rarely plays a big part in it. But there they sit so comfortable in their sureity they they know exactly what it's like to face unknown situations with all types of people some good but some really bad and no way to be sure until it all falls down around them.
See better I keep my thoughts here. Sure there are some bad cops just like there are bad doctors, lawyers, teachers and preachers, but when it's time to stand in front of trouble I don't think I'll see these "judges" lining up to be first.
