I start out with T,A,O,N,I,R, and S since they are the most common letters in english. Then depending on wich letters show up I'll go with one of the following groups for their different reasons. L, E, and S tend to be the most commonly doubled up letters. TH, HE, and AN appear together more frequently than most. T, A, O, S, or W begin more than half of english words and will end in E. THE, ING, CON, and ENT are of course the most commonly used three letter groups. I got these ideas from some old code breaking books. Books are great aren't they.
