People speak too poignantly of turning points, some point in their past when an event, a tragedy, love made, lost or unrequited changed the course and direction of their life forever. And while undoubtedly even the smallest ripple can cause a massive wave, a turning point is nothing more than the first link in a chain that leads from an old way to a new.



And oh what a time of year it is for turning points, new beginnings and best intentions as people starve and deprive themselves of delicious food they love, the body recoils in horror at the mean trick of excessive alcohol consumption then sudden withdrawal, hands without cigarettes dont know what to do with themselves and pare their nails anxiously against their teeth and with the best of intentions people plan to break bad habits.



The problem is that good intentions come cheap, promises are as easy to make as they are to break when our happiness is at stake.



So for my new years resolutions I plan to take up smoking, cigarettes at first then meth, crack and the occasional cigar, to increase my drinking from once or twice a week to rolling out of bed in the morning with a bottle of raw spirits held in a claw and clamped to my lips until I pass out in the evening, to change my eating habits to a diet of greasy cheap processed mystery meat that'll make 'supersize me' look like a vegan de-tox program and in general to be more close minded and less tolerant of others.



Most importantly I plan not to keep or even attempt any new years resolutions I have made.

I really enjoyed reading this entry though at first I wasn't sure where it was going towards the end I could not help but giggle. The meaning though is noted.
