It's a pretty damaging thing when you accuse someone of harming children, or any form of sexual crime. Don't laugh. That shit doesn't go away.

It doesn't matter if you're saying it on Facebook, here or any other social media source those accusations can ruin a good person, cost them their freedom or even worse. As much as we have that desire to be social justice warriors we have to understand there is a cost attached to such damning words. What if we label a person who hasn't done those things? Sorry, but "not guilty" doesn't wash away that stigma. That person, guilty or not is known for that now and because someone was too willing to share an overheard rumor.

It's bullshit like this that makes me wonder just why the site has a system to be used in that manner. They say block people who do this, but maybe they should remove the anon feature. Make it so the offending person can't hide who they are but that's far from the point of this.

My point is, it doesn't hurt to act better. It doesn't hurt to not be the person others dislike instead of being the person who has to attack the character of another, or make damning accusations that cannot be proven. But it also certainly doesn't hurt to consider what another person may be feeling.

People here want change, been demanding it for years honestly. If you're reading this, that change starts with you, not the admin staff.
