Im back!

So yeah, back from my trip to Melb, went up for the big day out and went to Nik Nak to Dracular's, which i expected to be really cheesy, but was infact rad. The performers where increadibly witty and acted well, impro skills were insane and the food was good. A fantastic night. As was the Big Day Out (2006), i got to the centre of the big stage crowd, bout 5th person back from the stage. Got soaked by the hoses, saw the best and worst of ppl (as you always do in a pit, but you always see the worst, so i love the pit) it was lotsa crush but grand. (i never guessed how talented the White Stripes are...)

Peace.

O yeah, well one thing i missed out was, i spent the two days prior to goin to Port Arthur over at Bennies place with some mates and all kind's of dastardly deeds took place, much to my ever so twisted amusment. It was the second best time of this year, only the Coven beat it, but it was close. Hell, if this keeps up, this year is goin to rock so verily hard!

Updates regarding a very heavy week.

Well lets see, im kinda vague now, havent slept in 2 days and really, in the past week, i have had one proper nights sleep, so actually, in reflection, im feeling excellent.

So i went camping down to the Port Arthur Ruins for a few days, i was goin to go for 5 days, but the lass i was traveling with forgot the sleeping bags and bedding, so needless to say, it was freezing (i didnt mind so much, but it was uncomfortable ground) also the tent was totally rooted, we had a much smaller tent than the poles were for or the tarp, so yeah, it took some serious creativity to get that baby standing. (Notice i like my coma's?)

Anyway, we saw everything we really wanted to see by 12pm thursday (2 days in {like the ghost tour}) so we decided to bail early (got a refund, SCORE!) and then, much to my immense pleasure, I was back in Hobart in time for the Coven. AngelSpit where down from Sydney, and they filled a gap in my track list (GO to their site and download, their all very anti capitalist greed, so its free, and their rockin). Anyway, i was off my face, but not lots, just enough to be really sociable (a bonus in a goth club) and able to dance all night (which i did with zest, im really really gettin to love dancing) but yeah, the night was utterly rad (still havent slept) and i cant wait for the next one (bar that it'll be regular DJ's, so not quite so cool, and i will be in Vic for the Big Day Out {Damn & Score}.

Apart from that, when the sun rose and the night was over, Si, Lara and I headed home and talked shit for numerous hours but the whole coming down process, it was unsually uncomfortable as the night was so good that i (and the others) really didnt want it to be over.

O well, theirs always more fun, im just gonna have a hard time beating that night, also, i got recommended some rad programs for music making by the guy of AngelSpit, really cool fella.

Peace

Dave

(im sure i left out stuff, ill fill it in later if i remeber).

The Story Unravels

08:20 Jan 09 2006

Have you ever noticed how nothing ever goes easy or as one thinks it ought to?

Fuck it! I wonder where i got this false expectation (despite my deep cynicism) that think are ment to run in one way when the universe is obviously not designed for how society likes to run and in that clash can only create adversity.

(In other words, im wasting hours and nothing is working!)

But yeah, the weekend was good, on Friday and Saturday night i did the filming for Illicid Eve as they performed in Hobart. Their not my style but i ended up buying the album anyway, their really very good.

Since then its been a bit quite. The usual stuff, eating, breathing, reading (The Time Travelers wife as of yesterday, its interesting, based off the same idea's that i wrote one of my philosophy papers on last yr, tho, just to sound like a self-centred wanker, i liked where i took the idea more!)

I have been lazy in my guitar practice, but then, i havent had a lesson in a bit and im off to port arthur in 3 days, then to the big day out and a white strips concert. Im having to save money and all.

Its still the best relaxent, although, i dont really get stressed enough to need one, ack, i love it anyway ;)

Meanwhile, i think i need more friends, i suppose i have heaps and all, but i keep finding gaps in stuff... ill explain more if ya ask me.

Hmmm, bored, i think i might head home, all this web scouring is tiring me out.

Peace

Dave

The New Years shananigans

01:31 Jan 06 2006
Times Read: 568

Well the new yr is all over, chaotic as it was. See, i started with about five options for new yr's. A day or so before the night two options fell out in a row, then that night another two dropped off so i spent about 3 hours trying to get the last plan working, which just didnt happen. Regardless during those 3 hours i managed to run into a few mates round town and went back to a party i didnt even know was on (one with way too much groping of my ass for my comfort, but it was amusing), the party was ok but i end up completly off my face, having fallen thru with all my best mates so only left with a few who i dont hang with so often (although made more that night) and next thing i know im in bed with two girls i never wanted to bed! I dont remeber much around that time but i know we kicked off the new yr with a bang (excuse the pun). Since then things have been alot more settled, it took a few days for everyone to recover and return to their respective homes but it was all good in the aftermath, alto im pissed that i didnt see the sunrise.

And now? Now everything is back to average, i just started reading the jimi hendrix bio "room full of mirrors" interestin stuff, never would have guessed he had a even harder life than me, but that seems to be the way post WWII. Hmmm, its inspiring me to actually put some effort into my guitar rather than gettin discouraged cause i suck and im rather old now to go anywhere with it.

Im rambling, sorry.
