The Morning

The morning was cool, wet and cloudy. Her skin should have been cool to the touch; but instead was white hot with desire. How was this, she thought. She moved in her bed, still in morning's wrappings. Then she noticed; she was moist as if she had been ravished by the storm.

Desire had come to her like a lover in the night.

Taking her in its arms, drawing her close and capturing her in its heat. The burning still there, present even in the light of day.

It normally drew away at first light, fleeing from her touch. No matter how much she protested, but not "this" morning.

Listening, she could still hear the silence; the sheer lack of sound. She knew this ment her companion was still close. The birds made not a sound, driven from their normal posts by rain and wind.

She closed her eyes and listened, nothing, dead-bang silence. Desire was still here, she could smell him.

In his coming and his leaving all she saw was the wolf.

Dark, deadly and swift; he was fearful to all around him and he liked it.

It was how he held his distance. It was how she usually saw him; and then there were the dreams. For that is all they were, weren't they?

Dreams of running, flying with her wolf, walking the winds together. Time held no limits and there was nothing but joy, passion and freedom.

Yet sometimes in his unguarded moments he was there. Not quite a wolf, not really a man, something else. Something primal, raw, untamed - she should have been afraid.

The first time she had seen him deliver death so swift, so relentless it should have repulsed her.

Made her turn away; but she could not.

Something in his eyes. Something familiar, something loving, tender, even as the blood dripped.

There was something unexplainable that drew her like a moth to a flame.

Yet there was no fear.

The first time she had extended her fingers towards the creature, the light had spilled from her fingertips like crystals and danced across his fur, his face and eyes.

It burned, but he did not draw back.

It tore at him, his flesh, fur searing from the heat, the light. He would not draw away, he did not attack; even though every part of his being said to.

What was this creature, so full of light?

He had thought her a mere mortal woman, just more prey.

But when she had dared to approach she was different, more she had changed.

She had become mist, light and something danced in his eyes, like the coils of a dragon.

Moving yet not, strong, deadly yet not striking out; there was a respect, a balance if you would.

Then she had changed yet again and he beheld his mate.

Oh my God, said Aja; I've got to be more careful what I eat before I go to bed from now on. Waking from these dreams was starting to get to her. Night after night; they were always there. Or seemed to come when she least expected or wanted these night visions.

Yes, Aja; she had never understood what her mother was thinking about when she had named her that.

Her full name had come to be Aja Sang Bleu. Talk about different, she had been the bane of her classmates in school. Grade school had been bad enough, high school torture; but when she had gotten to college.

It had never stopped, the cat calls, the teasing - to the point of sheer distraction. The name had always been enough to deal with. So why this creature too?

She could not remember a time when the wolf had not been there. She was not quite sure why he had come in the first place, only that he was there.

At first it had been unnerving, the mixed feelings the first time she had seen him. The first time that she awoke, sure that he was there, right there in the room with her.

Guarding her, watching her, yet never coming close enough for her to touch. One of her first memeories of the "creature" for that is what she called him as a child had been after one of the series of abuse that she would come to know as a daily event. The scenario was almost always the same, Daddy would need help taking his bath.

Or when it was time to give Aja her bath her father would offer to help out.

time should have no limits...passion...joy and freedom are all important...

I want to see where this is going...write more write more...

I can tell this is going to a very interesting piece...so far it is well written good use of words...keep going...I can see this will work on well...

Abuse is a hard subject to write about...but when written well can touch and change the lives of millions...I'm sure you will do excellent on this piece...even if it doesn't continue to be as good as it is now...

Although I doubt that highly...also...good on wolfie...he is a good starting point to ease into this story...
