Mostly shadows dancing down the corridor, he was walking. Mind was racing at the speed of sound, or did it break the sound barrier already?
He was staring through the looking glass, the thought in his mind, looping: “how did I arrive at this crucial juncture, I am currently at?”
“Is awakening truly what I am after?!”, “or instead am I tranquil to keep slumbering away, as most of the others do??”, “Is the knowledge and the realizations, which come with it, truly worth the heavy stares and confused expressions of those he instinctively considered his peers?!”.
Each step he took, weighed him down more and more, and he began to doubt his choices: “am I really sane? Could I be delusional??”. So, he clenched his fist, raised it and resolved to treat his station, as a math proof: “assume insanity and prove, that you must arrive at a contradiction!”
People, who have lost touch with reality, and people, who have awakened to the “Greater Reality” have to have some attributes in common, but other crucial ones apart. A human-being, who fails to perform everyday chores and to effectively interact with his environment, must have lost touch with it.
On the other hand, “an awakened one” can and should wear the mask of civilization to appear, as others appear, a regular, run-of-the-mill, average Joe, in polite society. He steadied himself, straightened his hat ,and took a deep breath: “one can live two lives: a covert spiritual one and an overt material one, and no man is an island“.
To Be continued...
